
Five Redhawks Tab Ohio Valley Weekly Track & Field Awards

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Five Redhawks tabbed Ohio Valley Conference track and field weekly awards the league announced Sunday evening.
Brianna Dixon claimed OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. The Illinois native crossed the line at 8.08 to take first in the 55m hurdle event for a new personal best that ranks second in the country.
Paden Lewis won OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week for the seventh time. The senior thrower broke the overall SEMO shot put record with a distance of 73' 2.50", ranking first in the OVC and 22nd in the NCAA. Lewis also won the weight throw event after throwing for a mark of 62' 6", ranking third in the SEMO record books.
Makenzie Williams tabbed OVC Female Field athlete of the week after achieving personal bests in the weight throw (63' 8.75") and shot put (42' 1.50"). The graduate student placed first in the weight throw, ranking first in the OVC and 78th in the NCAA and fourth in SEMO records. Her shot put mark ranks eighth in the conference.
Dominic Revels notched OVC Male Freshman of the Week for the second time in his young Redhawk career. Revels placed second in the 55m besting seven other athletes with a finishing time of 6.54.
Alaina Lester took home OVC Female Freshman of the Week Honors after running in her first 55m event. Lester, a member of the SEMO volleyball team, placed second in the event with a time of 7.23 that ranks 19th in the NCAA.
