Redhawks Host Lindenwood on Senior Day Saturday
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (5-21, 3-14 OVC) will host Ohio Valley Conference leader Lindenwood (19-7, 15-2 OVC) on Saturday, February 22, from the Show Me Center. Saturday's game marks the final home game of the season with tip-off slated for 1:30 p.m. in Cape Girardeau.Â

The Redhawks and Lions will renew their rivalry for the second time this season with the first resulting in an 84-76 victory for the Lions in St. Charles, Mo. (1/23). Saturday's matchup marks the seventh matchup between the two with the Redhawks holding a 4-2 advantage.Â

Streak Snapped
The Redhawks snapped a 13-game losing streak on Thursday night with a 51-49 victory over Western Illinois in the second matchup of the season with the Leathernecks. Senior
Lexi McCully sunk a pair of free throws followed by a last second defensive stand from the Redhawks to seal the victory. McCully finished with 15 points on 3-9 shooting and was a perfect 6-6 at the charity stripe. The Redhawks earned their first victory since January 2 after beating Tennessee State.Â

Saturday marks the final game at the Show Me Center for three Redhawk seniors. Guards

Sophie Bussard, and
Lexi McCully will all be recognized prior to the game and will compete in their final home game as a Redhawk.Â

The Redhawks shot an impressive 10-12 at the free throw line against the Leathernecks on Thursday night (83.3%). After that performance, SEMO shot up to seventh in the OVC in free throw percentage, shooting 71.3-percent at the foul line. SEMO had nine more free throw attempts than WIU on Thursday night.Â

Zoe Best poured in 14 points against the Leathernecks on Thursday night on 4-13 shooting (30.8%). Best, who leads the Redhawks in scoring, returned to double figures after a three-game spell of under 10 points. Best was perfect at the foul line (4-4) and shot 28.6-percent from three-point range. Best has now scored 353 points on the season, averaging 13.6 PPG.Â

Briah Hampton made her first start since December 21 on Thursday night. She recorded four points and two rebounds over 22:07 of action. Thursday's game marked the sixth start of the season for Hampton.Â

Ainaya Williams recorded three blocks against the Leathernecks on Thursday night and is now on a four-game streak with at least one block in each game. Over the last four games, Williams is averaging 2.2 blocks-per-game and has totaled 45 blocks on the season. In three less games, Ainaya ranks first in the OVC in blocks-per-game with EIU's Macy McGlone at 2.0 blocks-per-game.Â
