Southeast Missouri Volleyball (14-12, 6-6 OVC) will continue Ohio Valley Conference play Friday, November 7 through Saturday, November 8 when they host Lindenwood in Cape Girardeau. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at Houck Field House.

Thank You Seniors
This weekend marks 'Senior Day' celebrations for six Redhawk seniors. Alandry Below, Ramiri Gardner, Kara Oxenknecht, Jenny Shook, Avery Torrey, and Mackenzie Tucker will all be honored prior to Saturday afternoon's match.

Series History
This weekend's series marks just the eighth and ninth time the Redhawks and Lions have matched up with one another on the volleyball court. A season ago, the two programs split the regular season matches in St. Charles, Mo. with the Redhawks winning the second game in five sets. LU leads the all-time series by a 4-3 mark.

Last Weekend
The Redhawks snapped a five-game losing skid with back-to-back three set victories over Tennessee State in Nashville, Tennessee last weekend. Sophomore Marin Johnson led the Redhawks in kills, tallying 23 over the two matches against the Tigers. Middle blocker Kara Oxenknecht finished Friday's match with eight kills on 12 attempts, with no errors, for a .667 hitting-percentage. Setter Megan Holder dished out 36 total assists over six sets, averaging 6.00 assists per set to lead the Redhawks offense to a .350 hitting-percentage.

League Table
With just six games left in the 2025 regular season, the Redhawks enter the weekend with a 6-6 overall record in league play. Both SEMO and LU are tied with one another entering the weekend tied for seventh place. Morehead State, who lost their first conference game last weekend, remains in first place at 11-1 followed by Eastern Illinois at 10-2.

Acer
Junior Nina Schuberth is one of the best servers in the country after 26 matches. The Yorkville, Illinois-native is first in the Ohio Valley Conference with 40 service aces after recording four last weekend at TSU. Schuberth ranks 27th in the nation in service aces this season and is just nine away from breaking her own record for aces in a single season (49).

400 Club
Following last weekend, Lucy Arndt has eclipsed the 400-point mark for the 2025 season. Arndt has 400.5 points this season, averaging 4.01 points per set over 100 sets played. She ranks second in the OVC in points, and 34th in the country in the same category. She trails Morehead State's M.E. Hargan by just 26.5 points for the top spot in the OVC.

Team Points
Entering the third-to-last weekend of the season, SEMO Volleyball ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference in points having accumulated 1,653 over 102 sets played. SEMO, who has played the most sets in the conference, averages 16.21 points per set. Morehead State leads the conference with 1392 points over 78 sets played (17.85 avg/s).

Middle blocker Kara Oxenknecht leads the Redhawks in hitting-percentage with a minimum of 100 total attacks, with a .389 hitting mark.

SEMO has only been blocked 183.5 times over 102 sets, compared to UT Martin (last in the conference) who has been blocked 197.5 times over 86 sets.

Third All-Time
Junior Lucy Arndt cemented herself in the SEMO record book once again this season. With yet another season to play, Arndt's 1,230 career kills rank her third all-time in SEMO program history. She now trails just Krissa Gearring (2014-17) with 1,309 and the program's leader Laney Malloy (2018-21) with 1,428.

Fourth All-Time
Libero Nina Schuberth also etched her name into the career record book this season from the service line. Having already set the single-season program record for service aces (49), Schuberth currently ranks third all-time in-service aces with 126 with yet another season to play. She trails only Laney Malloy (3rd, 132), Tara Beilsmith (2nd, 139), and Ally Dion (1st, 154) on the all-time program list. She surpassed former Redhawk, Claire Ochs (2018-21) who had 122 service aces, this past weekend at TSU.

Keep It Rollin'
Sophomore Marin Johnson has put together a good streak of kills over the last six matches. Johnson, a sophomore from Wheaton, Illinois, has recorded double-digit kills in four-of-the-last-six matches including 14 against Missouri (10/22) and Tennessee State (10/31). She has 247 total kills on the season, with just 83 errors, over 727 total attacks for an overall hitting-percentage of .226.

Just One Error
Freshman outside hitter Katy St. John recorded an impressive weekend last weekend at TSU finishing the weekend with a .450 hitting percentage between the two games. St. John recorded 31 total attacks with just one error and finished with 15 total kills. St. John has 182 total kills and is hitting an impressive .239 in just her first season of collegiate volleyball.

Eyeing 250
15th year head coach Julie Yankus is closing in on career win number 250. Yankus needs just eight more wins in 2025 to reach the milestone for her career. With 14 wins so far this season, she has now recorded double-digit win seasons in 14-of-15 seasons at the helm of SEMO Volleyball. She is also two wins away from 150 career Ohio Valley Conference victories and has a +30 win/loss ratio (148-108) in conference matches for her career.
