Women's Basketball Falls to Missouri State Tuesday Night

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (1-2) fell to Missouri State (3-0), 67-57, on Tuesday night at the Show Me Center. 

First Quarter
- Faith Lee opened the scoring for Missouri State with a jumper assisted by Maycee James.
- Ainaya Williams contributed significantly for the Redhawks, scoring a layup and completing a three-point play with a free throw.
- Raissa Nsabua assisted on four Redhawks baskets, leading to a 6-0 fast break advantage.
- At the end of the first quarter, the Redhawks led 15–10.

Second Quarter
- Missouri State gained momentum early, taking the lead with a series of inside shots.
- The Redhawks countered with strong defensive plays, including two blocks by Kearra Jones and Zoey Rixter.
- Carmen Taylor's three-pointer, followed by consecutive baskets, helped regain the lead for the Redhawks.
- At halftime, the Bears held a narrow advantage, leading 31–26.

Third Quarter  
- Faith Lee scored early with a jumper, assisted by Maycee James, giving the Bears a slight lead.  
- The Bears capitalized on second-chance opportunities, with Cady Pauley contributing consecutive free throws after an offensive rebound.  
- Lainie Douglas played a key role with both a block and a layup, allowing the Bears to extend the lead.  
- At the end of the third quarter, the Bears led 50–37.

Fourth Quarter  
- Lexi McCully opened the scoring for the Redhawks with a layup, cutting the deficit to 50–39.  
- Aa'Mya Stacker added a layup in transition, assisted by Kearra Jones, to bring the score to 52–41.  
- The Redhawks went on a scoring run, highlighted by two 3-pointers from McCully, narrowing the gap to 56–51.  
- At the final buzzer, the Bears secured the win with a score of 67–57.
