
Weber Nails Down Second-Straight OVC-Big South Freshman of the Week Honor

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri quarterback Johnny Weber won his second-straight Ohio Valley Conference-Big South Association Freshman of the Week honor Monday.
Weber, who hails from Kenosha, Wisconsin, threw for 283 yards and a career-high four touchdown passes to lead the Redhawks to a 42-13 Homecoming victory over Eastern Illinois (Oct. 18). He completed 21-of-31 passes and ran for 30 yards on seven carries. Weber threw all four of his touchdown passes in the first half, including two to Donnie Cheers (54 yds, 67 yds) and two to Kalvin Gilbert (44 yds, 4 yds). It was his second-straight game where he threw for over 250 yards and multiple touchdowns.
Charleston Southern's Zolten Osborne (Offensive) and Steve Zayachkowsky (Co-Defensive), Tennessee State's Micah Gay (Co-Defensive) and UT Martin's Cade Hechter (Specialist) round out the week's honorees.
