Volleyball Adds Transfer Middle Blocker for 2025

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Volleyball has announced the signing of middle blocker Kara Oxenknecht, the program announced Monday afternoon.
Oxenknecht began her collegiate career in 2022 at University of New Hampshire before spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Northern Iowa where she won back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Championships and made two-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
During her time at New Hampshire, Oxenknecht was selected as the American East Conference's 'Rookie of the Year' and was a First Team All-Conference selection.
She started in all 29 matches at UNH, amassing 292 total points in one season. She was first on the team in blocks (111) and second on the team in kills (207). She ranked third in the American East in hitting-percentage (.307) and fifth in blocks-per-set (1.08).
At Northern Iowa, Oxenknecht played in three matches in 2023 where she tallied five kills on 18 total attacks. She recorded a .111 hitting-percentage with just three errors.
On the defensive side of the net, she recorded eight block assists and averaged 1.3 blocks-per-set.
Oxenknecht hails from Naperville, Illinois where she graduated from Naperville North High School. She played club volleyball for sports performance 18 elite where she was a multi-year captain.
