Redhawks Begin Three-Game Road Swing at Tennessee Tech Thursday
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (4-12, 2-5 OVC) will begin a three-game road swing on Thursday, January 16, when they play Tennessee Tech (10-5, 4-2 OVC) in Cookeville, Tennessee. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., CT. at the Eblen Center. 
 
Series History
The Golden Eagles hold a 28-23 series lead over the Redhawks as the two teams will meet for the 52nd time in women's hoops on Thursday night. TTU is currently on a six-game winning streak in the series as the Redhawks last victory over Tech came on February 4, 2021, in Cape Girardeau. Prior to the six-game streak for TTU, the Redhawks won seven-in-a-row between 2018 and 2021. 
 
Last Time Out
The Redhawks fell on Tuesday night to Little Rock by a final score of 67-63 at the Show Me Center led by Zoe Best who finished with 20 points. She shot 8-of-13 from the field, including 4-8 from three in 38-minutes of action. Best was one-of-three Redhawks to finish in double figures including Da'Kariya Jackson (15 points) and Skylar Barnes (11 pionts). 
As a team, SEMO shot 25-of-50 from the field (50%), 6-of-18 from three (33.3%), but finished just 7-for-12 (58.3%) from the free throw line. Jackson led the Redhawks in rebounding, grabbing nine of SEMO's 29 rebounds as a team. SEMO lost the rebounding battle by a narrow margin of 32-29. The Redhawks forced LR into 15 turnovers and converted them into 16 points. Guard Jariyah Williamson led the squad with two steals on Tuesday night.  
 
Eight In a Row
Guard Zoe Best scored 20-points against Little Rock on Tuesday night extending her double-digit point streak to eight games in a row. Best now has five 20-plus point games on the season and has 13 total double-digit point games. Over that span, Best is averaging 18.3 points-per-game. 
 
Everyday Player
Freshman point guard Jariyah Williamson started her first game of her collegiate career against Eastern Illinois (12/19) and has been in the starting lineup every game since. Williamson is averaging 26.8 minutes-per-game during that stretch and currently averages 1.6 assists-per-game. She has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.8 on the season having played in 14 games. One of the best rebounders on the team, Williamson averages 3.6 rebounds-per-game and set a career-best against William Woods with 11. 
 
Pull It
As a team, SEMO shoots the three ball more than anyone in the OVC averaging 22.6 three-pointers-per-game to lead the conference in that category. The Redhawks rank 80th in the country in threes-per-game. 
 
Welcome Back, Indiya
Indiya Bowen returned to the floor last night for the Redhawks. Bowen, who missed the last three games, scored three points in just 12-minutes of action last night. She finished 1-for-2 from the field and the free throw line in the contest. On the season, Bowen is averaging 9.5 points-per-game and is shooting the ball at a 37.6-percent clip.

Newcomer Da'Kariya "Lia" Jackson continues to score in double figures for the Redhawks after beginning her SEMO career against Southern Indiana (1/9). Jackson is averaging 16.7 points-per-game in three games for SEMO including a career-best 20 points against Morehead State. In three games, Jackson is shooting 36.2-percent from the field and 45-percent from three-point range. 
 
Steal It
Guard Indiya Bowen ranks third in the OVC in steals-per-game, averaging 2.1 steals in 14 games played. Bowen has 30 steals on the season, including a season-high three in three separate games. 
 
Dish It
The Redhawks have done a good job sharing the basketball to create shots to the tune of 12.7 assists-per-game. SEMO ranks fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference in APG and is led by guard Lexi McCully. McCully has 42 assists on the season and averages 2.6 assits-per-game. 
 
Scouting the Opponent
Tennessee Tech
The Golden Eagles enter Thursday's matchup with a 10-5 overall record with a 4-2 Ohio Valley record. Most recently TTU defeated SIUE 74-58.
 
Chloe Larry led the team with 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting and she hit double-digits on rebounds with 10. Anna Walker also scored 11 points with a career-high 14 boards to collect her fourth career double-double.
 
Junior Regan Grimes leads the Golden Eagles on offense with 12.4 points per game with a .418 shooting clip. On the defensive side she adds 5.5 rebounds per game and 1.9 steals per game.
 
Keely Carter is another offense threat adding 9.5 points per game but with shooting clips of 44% from the field and 46.8% from three-point land.
 
As a team Tech ranks fourth in offensive efficiency and second in defensive efficiency in the the OVC. In the conference TTU ranks seventh, second, and fifth in shooting from the floor (.721), behind the arc (.352), and from the stripe (.721).
 
Tech ranks first in the conference in rebounds with 39.3 rebounds per game with 13.4 coming from the offensive side.
 
Head Coach Kim Roasmond is at the helm of the Golden Eagle program, currently in her ninth season.
