Redhawks Wrap-Up Homestand Tuesday Versus Little Rock
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (4-11, 2-4 OVC) will wrap-up a three game homestand on Tuesday, January 14, when they welcome in Little Rock (7-8, 5-1 OVC) to continue Ohio Valley Conference play. Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m., CT. from the Show Me Center. 
 
Series History
Since joining the OVC, Little Rock has owned the series with the Redhawks with a 5-0 record against SEMO over the course of two seasons. Overall, the Trojans hold a 7-2 overall record in the series. SEMO defeated Little Rock in a non-conference matchup on November 21, 2008, by a final score of 57-48 at the Show Me Center. 
 
Last Time Out
The Redhawks fell to Morehead State on Saturday by a final score of 64-61 at the Show Me Center. Da'Kariya Jackson led the Redhawks offense with 20 points on 7-15 shooting from the field. She was 4-5 from three-point range. As a team, SEMO shot 35.5-percent from the field (22-62), 38.9-percent from three (7-18), but shot just 55.6 at the free throw line (10-18). 
The Redhawks totaled 30 rebounds as a team, led by Briah Hampton who had a career-high 11 rebounds, including eight on the defensive end. SEMO forced 17 turnovers converting them into 20 points. Skylar Barnes and Jariyah Williamson led the Redhawks in steals with three each.
 
Crash the Glass
Forward Briah Hampton led the Redhawks in rebounding on Saturday afternoon with a career-high 11 rebounds against Morehead State. Hampton surpassed her previous high of six rebounds in two separate contests this season. She is averaging 3.2 rebounds-per-game and has grabbed 42 total rebounds all season. 
 
Offensive Spark
Da'Kariya 'Lia' Jackson has made an immediate impact on the Redhawks in just two games on the offensive end of the floor. Jackson, who made her first career start on Saturday afternoon, dropped in 20 points against Morehead State. She finished 7-15 from the field and was 4-5 from three-point range. She is averaging 32.5 minutes-per-game in her first two games in a SEMO uniform, while averaging 17.5 points-per-game. 
 
Charity Stripe
The Redhawks are shooting 71.2-percent at the free throw line this season which ranks them sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference. As a team, SEMO is 146-205 at the foul line. With at least 20 attempts, guard Zoe Best leads the Redhawks in free-throw percentage with a .833 mark, having missed just six free throws all season (30-36). 
 
The Distributor
Senior guard Lexi McCully leads the Redhawks in assists with 41 total assists on the season. McCully, who recorded a season-high eight assists against William Woods, has recorded an assist in every game this season. She is currently tied for 10th in the OVC in assists-per-game with 2.7 tied with Allie Meadows of Western Illinois. 
 
Seven in a Row
Freshman Zoe Best has scored the basketball at an impressive clip to the tune of seven-straight games with double-digit points. Beginning on December 19 against Eastern Illinois, Best has averaged 18.1 points-per-game and has scored 20-plus points in three of those games. On the season, she has 225 points and is averaging 15.0 PPG. 
 
Number One from Three
Southeast Missouri ranks number one in the Ohio Valley Conference in three-pointers made this season. The Redhawks have scored 108 three-pointers and average 7.2 threes-per-game through 15 games this season. SEMO has one more three-pointer on the season than Tennessee Tech who has 107 (7.1 PG). 
 
League Table
The Redhawks come into Tuesday's matchup currently tied for seventh place with Morehead State and Western Illinois at 2-4 in OVC play. Eastern Illinois is currently in first place with a 6-0 record in conference play, followed by Lindenwood and Little Rock tied for second at 5-1. Southern Indiana (4-2), Tennessee Tech (4-2), and UT Martin (3-3) make up the next spots in the table. 
 
Scouting the Opponent
Little Rock
The Trojans come into Tuesday's game with a 7-8 overall record and a 5-1 OVC record coming off a win on Sunday against Southern Indiana. LR is averaging 61.4 points-per-game while allowing 67.2 PPG to their opponents. 
 
Faith Lee runs the offense as she is averaging 17.1 points-per-game and has scored 257 points on the season. Jordan Holman is the other Trojan who averages double digits with 11.9 PPG. Holman has scored 179 points on the season. 
 
On the glass, Emerald Parker is the leading rebounder for Little Rock averaging 6.4 rebounds-per-game. She has hauled in 33 offensive rebounds (2.2 ORPG) and 63 defensive rebounds (4.2 DRPG). Holman and Sug Williams are next with each player averaging 5.2 rebounds-per-game. 
 
Defensively, Holman leads the squad with 31 steals on the season, averaging 2.1 steals-per-game. Emerald Parker controls the paint with 15 blocks on the season (1.0 BPG) through the first 15 games. 
 
The Trojans are led by first year head coach Steve Wiedower who was an assistant for 15 seasons prior to becoming the head coach.
