EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southeast Missouri volleyball (4-9, 1-1 OVC) fell on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 3-1 to Southern Indiana (6-8, 1-1 OVC) from Screaming Eagles Arena.
The Redhawks jumped out to a one set advantage after taking the first set, 25-23, to take a 1-0 lead into the second set. USI would win the final three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-20 to pick up their first conference victory.
Three Redhawks entered double-digit kills in the match, led by freshman
Marin Johnson with a career-high 17 kills. Johnson hit .325 on 40 total attacks with just four errors.

Abby Johnson followed behind with 13 and 12 kills, respectively.
Freshman
Megan Holder dished out a career-best 40 assists as the Redhawks hit .252 as a team. As a team, SEMO had 52 total assists.
USI hit .300 as a team in the contest including a .375 hitting-percentage in the fourth set which was their best in the match.
Sophomore libero
Nina Schuberth recorded a season-high 21 digs in the match and recorded just a single error after making two-straight starts in the libero jersey for the Redhawks.
SEMO out-blocked USI for the second-straight match with an 11-6 advantage led by Marin and
Abby Johnson. The Johnson duo finished with five apiece.
The Redhawks will return to action for the first home game of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 2, when they host Little Rock. First serve is slated for 6 p.m., CT. at Houck Field House.
