Southeast Missouri Volleyball (3-8) will begin the 2024 Ohio Valley Conference portion of their schedule on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28, as they travel to Evansville, Ind. to take on Southern Indiana. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. & 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, respectively, from Screaming Eagles Arena.

Series History
The Redhawks have dominated the series with USI in eight meetings. This weekend will mark the ninth and 10th meetings in volleyball between the two schools. SEMO holds a 7-1 record against USI and is currently on a seven-game winning streak in the series.

The last time these two met came back in 2022 in Evansville. SEMO took both matches over the weekend with a 3-0, 3-1 victory on Oct. 14-15, 2022. The Redhawks have dropped three total sets against USI over the history dating back to 1985.

The Redhawks spent the final weekend of the non-conference portion of the schedule in Carbondale, Ill. where they dropped both matches in heartbreaking fashion as both losses came in the fifth and final set.

SEMO opened the Saluki Invitational with a 3-2 loss to Missouri State behind a career-best 19 kills from Abby Johnson. The Redhawks out hit Missouri State by a .209 to .207 advantage, but the Bears rallied in the fifth set to take the match.

The Redhawks turned around for Saturday's match against local rival Southern Illinois and fell in five sets. SEMO led by a score of 7-1 or more in all four of the opening frames, but SIU utilized a .208 to .191 hitting advantage to steal a victory at Davies Gym in Carbondale.
