Track & Field Set for Outdoor Season at the Richard Martin Invite Friday & Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State track and field will begin the 2024 outdoor season this weekend as they travel to Conway Arkansas for the Richard Martin Invite Friday, March 15 through Saturday, March 16 at the Bill Stephens Track Complex.
On Friday the men's and women's hammer throw and javelin will take place beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The meet is slated to start at 10:00 a.m on Saturday with the women's 5000m. The field events begin at 10:30 a.m with men's discus.
2023-24 Indoor Recap
The 2023 indoor season saw Parker Feuerborn place sixth at the NCAA championships in the weight throw to become an All-American.
At the Ohio Valley Conference meet the women's team finished with 224 total points to make this their ninth indoor title. The team defended their title from last season winning back-to-back indoor titles.
The men's team finished in third place with 127.5 total points behind Eastern Illinois in second with 176.54 points and Little Rock in first with 180 total points.
Brianna Dixon won Female Freshman of the Year, Breanna Miles won Female Track Athlete of Year defending her title from the outdoor season, Parker Feuerborn claimed Male Field Athlete of the Year honors, Eric Crumpecker won his fifth indoor award by winning Women's Coach of the Year.
During the championship the Redhawks finished with six new SEMO records, 21 gold medal performances, 40 new personal bests, and 100 top ten finishes.
Throughout the year the track and field team broke 16 SEMO records and notched 18 athlete of the week awards.

Last year eight Redhawk athletes qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field First Round competitions.
Returning athletes include Luke Hatfield-Jackson, Parker Feuerborn, Marshall Swadley, Josiah Kilgore, Justin Breault, Laila Hardin, and Clara Billing.
Feuerborn ended up with second team All-American honors (13th) in the hammer throw at the NCAA Track & Field championships.
At the 2023 OVC championships SEMO won both the men's and women's OVC outdoor titles for the fifth time in program history and first since 2014. With the Redhawk men being outdoor champions for the second-straight season.
Clara Billing was named OVC Female Freshman of the Year, Brianna Miles claimed OVC Female Track Athlete of the Year, Dylan Clark was tabbed OVC Male Field Athlete of the Year and Eric Crumpecker won both the OVC men's and women's outdoor Coach of the Year honors.
During the meet SEMO finished with 13 gold medal performances, 29 new PR's, and 37 top three performances.
