Schedule Flip
The Redhawks completed January with a 2-6 record and 1-6 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast Missouri played five of its eight games in January on the road. That won't be the case in February, where SEMO will be at home for five of its eight games. The Redhawks are on a three-game home stand to begin the month hosting Western Illinois (Feb. 3), Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8) and Tennessee State (Feb. 10) over that period.
Redhawks Rout Tennessee TechÂ
Southeast Missouri never trailed in a dominating 88-69 win over Tennessee Tech Thursday. SEMO opened the game with a 12-2 run and never turned back. The Redhawks put five players in double figures for the first time this season. Evan Eursher and Rob Martin led the way with 16 points, Josh Earley had 14, BJ Ward added 13 and Braxton Stacker finished with 11.
Where They Stand
With Thursday's win, Southeast Missouri moved into a tie for eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. SEMO and Southern Indiana share that spot with 3-8 league records.
Redhawks End Skid
The Redhawks ended a four-game losing streak when they beat Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8).
Ward Produces
Freshmen BJ Ward scored double figures off the bench in two-straight games. Ward recently had a season-high 13 points against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8). Prior to that, he scored double figures for the first time in his career with 11 points vs. Western Illinois (Feb. 3).
Eursher Notches Career-High
In just his second career start, Evan Eursher dropped in a career-high 16 points against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8). Eursher made 6-of-8 field goals and buried 4-of-5Â three-pointers in 28 minutes. Both of his career starts came agains the Golden Eagles.
3-Pointer Streak
As a team, Southeast Missouri has made at least one 3-pointer in 483 consecutive games. The last time SEMO did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008. The Redhawks kept that streak alive when they made their only 3-pointer of the game with less than a second left at Lindenwood (Jan. 30).
