SEMO Falls Thursday Evening, 3-1, to Lindenwood

St, Charles, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Volleyball (15-12, 12-3 OVC) falls to Lindenwood (18-9, 12-3 OVC) by a final score of 3-1 Thursday evening inside Robert F. Hyland Arena.

Lucy Arndt continued her streak and recorded her 10th straight game with double digit kills (11). The sophomore posted a double double recording ten digs.

Marin Johnson paced the Redhawks offensively with 12 kills on 35 total attacks (.286). The outside hitter also chipped in on the defensive side recording 13 digs for a double double and two solo blocks.

The Lions edged SEMO in the first set by a score of 25-22. The Redhawks took the second set 25-20. Then Lindewood finished the tightly contested match by winning sets three and four, 25-22 and 25-20.

Defensively the Redhawks put up good numbers with four Redhawks notching two plus blocks; Ardnt (2.5), Johnson (2), Avery Torrey (2.5), and Alaina Lester (3.5).

In the first set Lindwood came out fast, promoting a SEMO timeout. After the timeout the match would go back and forth the whole night. The second set would prove to be the same thing as both teams battled back and forth.

After set two SEMO had recorded 11 kills and the Lions notched one more with 12. The Redhawks led in blocks with five compared to Lindenwood's two. Abby Johnson was leading with seven kills, and Nina Schuberth had tallied 13 digs.

Both sets three and four were close as well but the Lions proved to be too much in the close contest.

Megan Holder led the way for the Redhawks in assists dishing out 24 total assists. Schuberth dug up 30 total attacks for her third highest dig total on year.

Redhawk volleyball is back tomorrow against Lindenwood at 6:00 p.m.
