COLUMBIA, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Volleyball (7-10) fell on Wednesday night to Missouri (10-5) by a final score of 3-0 from the Hearnes Center. The Redhawks were led by
Lucy Arndt who finished with nine kills on 24 total attacks for a .375 hitting-percentage.
SEMO dropped the match by scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-11.
As a team, SEMO hit .241 thanks in large part to setter
Megan Holder who dished out a team-best 15 assists.
Kennedey Johnson chipped in 15 assists as the duo were responsible for 24-of-27 assists on the night.
The Tigers finished with four different players in double-digit kills, led by Jordan Illiff with 14. MU hit .530 as a team in Wednesday's contest.
Freshman
Megan Holder started the game with a service ace to give the Redhawks an early advantage in the opening frame.
Back and forth through the first few points, the Tigers held an 8-7 advantage after a
Lucy Arndt kill got the Redhawks back to within a point. A quick 3-0 run by MU grew their lead to 11-7.
A kill by
Abby Johnson got the Redhawks back to within three points, 13-10, but two points in a row put the Tigers up 15-10 at the game's first media break.
Out of the break, MU grew their lead to 20-11 for their biggest advantage of the first set and took the first set 25-15.

Marin Johnson led the way for the Redhawks with three kills apiece.
As a team, Missouri edged the Redhawks by a .583 to .364 hitting advantage after the first frame.
SEMO and Missouri played to another 15-10 media break stoppage in the second set. Out of the break, a block by
Alaina Lester and
Abby Johnson got the Redhawks to within four points midway through the set.
Holder dialed up her second ace of the match as the Redhawks were trailing 21-16, to get the Redhawks back to within four. An error from MU's Janet deMarrais got the Redhawks to a 21-18 defecit late in the frame.
An
Abby Johnson kill at 23-20 MU was the final point of the set for the Redhawks as the Tigers closed on two straight points to take the second set, 25-20. SEMO hit .273 in the second frame with 11 total kills in the second.
MU closed the match with a .565 hitting-percentage in the third frame to take the match.

SEMO Volleyball will return to action next Friday, Oct. 18, when they travel to Morehead State to continue Ohio Valley Conference play. First serve is slated for 5 p.m., CT. in Morehead, Kentucky.
