DeLaurent and Pippin Get More Big South-OVC Honors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – For the third time this season, Southeast Missouri picked up multiple Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Association honors when quarterback Paxton DeLaurent was named Offensive Player of the Week and DC Pippin was voted Co-Specialist of the Week Monday.
DeLaurent, who hails from Camdenton, Missouri, won his third Big South-OVC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.
He threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score leading SEMO to a 38-27 road win at Eastern Illinois. He completed 30-of-43 passes and hooked up with seven different receivers in the contest. DeLaurent threw touchdown passes of nine and 29 yards during the Redhawks 17-point first quarter. He tied his program's all-time career record in passing touchdowns (46).
A native of Springfield, Illinois, Pippin won his second-straight Big South-OVC Specialist of the Week accolade. He did not miss a kick against the Panthers. Pippin kickstarted SEMO's 17-point first quarter with a 26-yard field goal and made 5-of-5 extra points. He made at least one field goal in six-straight games and moved to second on the Redhawks all-time career point after touchdown list. Pippin also kicked off seven times for 412 yards averaging 58.9 yards per kickoff.
SEMO has won a total of seven Big South-OVC weekly awards through six games this year.
