Redhawks Return Home for Tennessee Tech Friday & Saturday
Southeast Missouri Volleyball (12-10, 9-1 OVC) returns to Cape Girardeau to host Tennessee Tech (16-6, 5-5 OVC) on Friday and Saturday, November 1-2, to continue Ohio Valley Conference play. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. & 2 p.m., respectively, inside Houck Field House.Â

Battle of the Birds
The Redhawks & Golden Eagles will meet for the 62
nd & 63
rd time on the volleyball court over the weekend. SEMO has dominated the overall series, 43-18 but have not beaten TTU since October 22, 2021 (3-1) in Cookeville, Tenn. Tech swept the regular season matchup last year in Cookeville and Is on a five-match win streak against Southeast Missouri.Â

Senior Day Saturday
Saturday's match will honor five Redhawk seniors for senior day against Tennessee Tech.

Abby Johnson,
Abbey Richman,
Kennedey Johnson, and
Lexi Morse will all be honored prior to the match on Saturday afternoon.Â

Players of the Week
Lucy Arndt and
Nina Schuberth were tabbed as Ohio Valley Conference Players of the Week, following their efforts last week against Eastern Illinois.Â

Arndt was selected as the OVC Offensive Player of the Week as Schuberth picked up her second-straight OVC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.Â

Lucy Arndt finished the series last week against Eastern Illinois with 32 kills on 93 total attacks (seven errors) for a .269 hitting-percentage. The sophomore from Freeport, Illinois averaged 5.33 kills-per-set. In Friday's match, Lucy reached a new season-high with 21 kills in the match against EIU, hitting an impressive .310 on 56 total attacks (three errors).Â

Arndt also recorded her eighth and ninth double-double of the season over the two-match series with EIU. In Friday's match, Arndt recorded 11 digs against the Panthers along with her 21 kills.Â

The reigning Co-OVC Defensive Player of the Week
Nina Schuberth picked up the same honors this week after an impressive 44 dig weekend. In Thursday's match, Schuberth logged a series-high 24 digs before finishing the weekend with 20 on Friday night.Â
Schuberth also dialed up four aces over the two matches as well.Â

Reverse Sweep
Redhawks Volleyball was last in action on Tuesday, Oct. 29, when they took on Little Rock in a match between two-of-the-top three teams in the conference. SEMO trailed 2-0 early but completed the reverse sweep to down LR by a final score of 3-2 inside the Jack Stephens Center.Â

SEMO's offense was led by sophomore
Lucy Arndt who finished with a season-high 22 kills on the night. Arndt chipped in 15 digs as well for her 10th double-double of the season. She hit .212 on 66 total attempts with just eight errors.Â

Abby and
Marin Johnson each finished with double figure kills as the duo finished with 12 and 10, respectively, as SEMO finished with 61 kills on the evening including 10 in the final frame.Â

Setters
Megan Holder and
Kennedey Johnson helped the Redhawks outhit LR by a .200 to .192 hitting advantage. Holder dished out 26 assists, Johnson with 17 as the duo combined for 43-of-56 SEMO assists.

The Trojans would take both opening sets, but SEMO would not go quietly, dominating sets three and four by final scores of 25-15 in each set to force a fifth and decisive set.

Early in the final frame, the Redhawks and Trojans were deadlocked at four following a kill from Arndt.Â

Five different times, inside the first eight points, the score was deadlocked as the two teams battled back in forth. A kill from LR's A'lanae Margaritha made the score 8-8 after the two teams traded sides.Â

Following a kill by Arndt to make it 14-14, the Trojans' Jeila Fullerton put the home team on match point with a 15-14 advantage.Â

Abby Johnson recorded a kill to make it 15-15 before the Trojans would regain another lead at 16-15. Johnson slammed home her 12th kill of the match to retie it at 16.Â

th in the nation in Digs-Per-Set as the Redhawks average 16.33 DPS so far this season. Libero
Nina Schuberth leads the club with 283 digs on the season and ranks ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference in that category. SEMO also ranks 31
st in the country with 1,404 digs as a team.Â

Attack 'Em
Sophomore
Lucy Arndt, coming off back-to-back games with a season-high in kills, ranks 28
th in all of Division I volleyball in attacks-per-set. Arndt is averaging 11.47 APS and ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference. Giulia Cardona of Evansville is the nation's leader with 15.97 APS.Â

Redshirt-Sophomore
Ramiri Gardner leads the Ohio Valley Conference in hitting-percentage with a .351 mark. The St. Peter's, Mo.-native ranks 79
th in Division I volleyball for hitting-percentage out of 150 players ranked for the category.Â

We Love Aces
The Redhawks have dialed up 140 service aces on the season which ranks them first overall in the OVC for the category. As a team, the Redhawks rank 63
rd in the country. On the service line, SEMO is led by freshman
Megan Holder and sophomore
Nina Schuberth 31 and 29, respectively. The duo ranks fourth and sixth in the conference for aces.Â

Scouting the Opponent
Golden Eagles
Tennessee Tech enters the weekend matchup with a 16-6 overall record and just 5-5 in OVC play. The Golden Eagles are currently on a two-match losing streak having dropped their last two matches at the hands of Little Rock in Cookeville.Â

The Golden Eagles have lost 4-of-their-last-5, last defeating Eastern Illinois (3-0) in Charleston, Illinois.Â
Â
Offensively, four Golden Eagles have recorded 100 or more kills led by Madolyn Isringhausen with 380. Alayna Pierce (208), Bella Powell (193), and Mallory Jenkins (108) round out the top four hitters on the squad.Â

The offense goes through setter Jordan Karlen who leads the OVC with 876 total assists on the season. As a team, Tech is hitting .215.Â
Â
Defensively, five Golden Eagles have more than 100 digs led by McKenna Young who has 350 digs on the season. Karlen (229), Isringhausen (187), Aleeya Jones (187), and Pierce (153) round out the top four. At the net, Bella Powell and Emma Pabon lead the team in blocks with 50 and 46, respectively.Â
