CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri moved to #8 in both the American Football Coaches Association Coaches and Stats Perform Media Top-25 polls Monday.
SEMO advanced one spot in the coaches poll and three spots in media poll to its #8 ranking.
The #8 ranking ties the Redhawks second-highest in program history. SEMO last ranked eighth in the AFCA Coaches Poll twice during the 2010 campaign (Nov. 8, Nov. 22).
SEMO has been in the Top-25 of both polls five-straight weeks and is the only ranked Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Association team.
The Redhawks are on a five-game winning streak and are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in Big South-OVC play. SEMO took over sole possession of first in the Big South-OVC with its 34-3 rout of Tennessee Tech on Oct. 12.
SEMO travels to Charleston Southern for its first-ever meeting with the Buccaneers Saturday.
