BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tara Beilsmith of Southeast Missouri volleyball picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors in the Ohio Valley Conference, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Beilsmith, a graduate student from Weldon Spring, Mo., continued her presence on the SEMO back line accumulating 36 digs over the two-game tournament in Chicago, Ill. this past weekend for a .971 reception percentage and six digs per set.
Against Chicago State, Tara had 22 attempts and did have a single error (1.000).
The award marks the first for Beilmsith this season and she is the second Redhawk to pick up weekly honors from the OVC this season (Arndt, 8/28).
Redhawks volleyball will be back in action this weekend as they head to McNeese State for the McNeese State Tournament. First match is slated for 10:30 a.m., CT. in Lake Charles, La. against Jackson State.
