Wegmann & Billing Break SEMO Records As Track & Field Concludes Day One

ATLANTA, Ga. - Clara Billing and Katie Wegmann lead the way for SEMO on day one of the Georgia Tech Invite as the two broke two more SEMO records. The track and field team dominated on day one finishing in first four times and totaling 19 top ten finishes.
 
Competition will continue Saturday, April 22, with the field events beginning at 12:00 p.m. with the high jump and the track events start at 1:00 p.m. with the 4 x 100 Relay. The last event is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. with the 4 x 400 Relay.
 
Another Day, Another Record
Katie Wegmann breaks the Southeast Missouri State 1500-meter school record after previously breaking the record on April 7th at the Joe Walker invite where she crossed the line at 4:23.36. 
 
She finished in sixth place and almost two seconds faster than that on Friday with a time of 4:21.62.
 
Clara Billing, a freshman from Rudbecksskolan, Sweden breaks the Southeast Missouri State school record in the women's pole vault. Billing broke the record and finished with the gold medal clearing a height of 13' 1.75" (4.01m). The record was 12' 11.5", previously held by Jill Schnurbusch in 2013. 
 
Atop The Podium
Luke Hatfield-Jackson placed first in the men's long jump, getting to the distance of 24' 5.5" (7.45m).
 
In the men's javelin throw Josiah Kilgore finishes with the gold, throwing for 210' 2" (64.07m).
 
Madelyn Gray finished on top of the podium and finished with a new personal best in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. Gray finished with a time of 11:03.59. 
 
Notable Performances
In the men's hammer throw Parker Feuerborn, Marshall Swadley, and Dylan Clark placed second, third, and fourth. Feuerborn threw for 214' 2" (65.29m), Swadley notched 206' 5" (62.93m), and Clark threw for 197' 7" (60.23m).
 
Chris Johnson finished in fourth with a jump of 22' 11.75" (7.00m) in the men's long jump and Aarion Jackson finished in seventh place with a jump of 22' 9.75" (6.95m).
 
Justin Breault placed third picking up the bronze medal in the men's javelin throwing for 201' 3" (61.34m). 
 
Clay Alewelt picked up a sixth-place finish throwing for 184' 0" (56.08m) in the men's hammer throw.
 
In the women's hammer throw Makenzie Williams placed sixth and Megan Deimeke finished in seventh. Williams threw for a mark of 184-11 (56.36) and Deimeke 178-5 (54.39).
 
Skylar Prescott placed eighth in the women's pole vault with a vault of 11' 8" (3.56m).
 
Megan Aubuchon crossed the finish line in 14.63 in the women's 100-meter hurdles placing 12th. 
 
The women's 100-meters saw Breanna Miles place 12th with a time of 11.69. 
 
Taylor Fox finished in 12th place with a time of 4:29.84 in the women's 1500-meter. 
 
In the men's shot-put Marshall Sawdley placed fifth with a throw of 57' 4.75" (17.49m) and Dylan Clark threw of 57' 0.75" (17.39m) placing seventh. 
 
Jaden Knight threw for 142-5 (43.41m) for fourth and Marysa Flieg threw for a mark of 140-7 (42.87m) for sixth in women's javelin.
