McGinnitey Wins as Readhawks Conclude Day One of the John Coughlan Invite.

NORMAL, Ill. - Kaitlyn McGinnitey leads the Redhawks placing first in the women's Pentathlon. The Redhawks end day one of the John Coughlan with 11 new personal records.

Women's Pentathlon
Kaitlyn McGinnitey won the women's Pentathlon with 3428 total points while also recording a new personal best. Anna Thomason placed second with a new PR (3394 points), Taylor Gudde recorded a new PR placing sixth (3143 points), and Kendall Holweg placed eighth (2688 points).

In the 60m hurdle and high jump Thomason claimed the number one spot, finishing in 8.90 for a new PR and a jump of 1.61m. Thomason also threw for a new PR mark of 9.54m for fifth in the shot put.

McGinnitey took silver in the 60-meter hurdles (9.09m), in the high jump (1.58m), and in the long jump (5.22m). The graduate student achieved a mark of 10.05m for third in the shot put.

Gudde placed seventh with times of  9.86 new personal best and 1.46m jump in the 60m hurdles and high jump. Gudde took the silver medal and a new personal record in the shot put (10.65m).

Holweg finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump with a time of 10.18 and a 1.43m mark. She placed eighth in the shot put (8.75m) for a new PR.

Gudde and Holweg tied for sixth in the long jump, getting to the distance of 4.80 meters (15' 09"). 

Thomason took home the bronze medal in the women's pentathlon long jump finishing with a distance of 5.15 meters (16' 10.75")

In the 800-meter run Gudde finished first with a time of 2:25.53. McGinnity and Thomason finished in third and fifth with times of 2:31.66 and 2:36.40. Holweg recorded a new PR crossing the line at 2:45.56.  

Men's Heptathlon
After day 1 of the heptathlon Isaac Readnour is in third with 2634 total points

Readnour notched third place in the 60-meter dash with a 7.26 finish and fourth in the high jump (1.77m).

Readnour jumped the longest in the long jump for first (6.73m) and placed fourth in the Heptathlon shot put (10.07).

Day two of the John Coughlan Invite will continue tomorrow as the men wrap up the Heptathlon. Parker Feuerborn will also compete tomorrow in the weight throw at the Saluki Fast start.
