BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Luke Hatfield Jackson won the men's long jump with a 24-1 ¾ mark for Southeast Missouri during the opening day of the Indiana Relays Friday.
Hatfield Jackson's first-place finish highlighted a total of seven top-five finishes.
SEMO was most dominant in the men's long jump with Hatfield Jackson and
Aarion Jackson taking first and second, respectively. Jackson, a freshman, finished with a jump of 22-10.
Breanna Miles placed third in the 200m with a time of 24.61, while
Nick Cimmarusti posted a fourth-place showing in the 5000m where he clocked a time of 14:52.24.
Serena Williams,
Sophie Dubis,
Noah Little and
Sullivan Gleason rounded out SEMO's top finishes as each placed fifth in their respective events.
Williams jumped 17-8 in the women's long jump, Dubis recorded a 5-1 mark in the high jump, Little crossed the finish line in 4:17.44 during the men's mile run and Gleason reached a 14-9 score in the pole vault.
Other notable performances included
Ciara Potter,
Tanner Koontz and both the men's and women's distance medley relay teams.
Potter was sixth in the long jump and Koontz came in sixth in the pole vault.
The women's distance medley relay team, consisting of
Taylor Fox,
Erika Mellor,
Brianna Payton and Madalyn Gray ran a time of 11:52.61 for sixth place.
Meanwhile, the men's distance medley relay team of
Terrico Garrett,
Michael Weaver,
Markeith Crawford and
Justin Splitt also took sixth with a time of 10:10.13.
The Redhawks conclude action at the Indiana Relays Saturday. Competition will begin with the women's triple jump and 60m hurdles at 10:45 a.m., CT.
