Redhawks Sign Trio for 2023-24 Campaign on Early Signing Day

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri women's basketball head coach Rekha Patterson announced Thursday the signing of three student-athletes for the 2023-24 season. Indiya Bowen, Amiyah Buchanan, and Daejah Richmond all signed to SEMO Thursday.
 
Indiya Bowen
Indiya Bowen, a 5-9 guard from Nesbit, Mississippi, will graduate from Horn Lake High in May 2023. 
 
The daughter of Henry and Angela Bowen, Indiya Bowen, has surpassed 1,000 points in her high school career. She is a four-year starter and letterwinner at Horn Lake. 
 
Bowen was named the 2022 3-6A All District Player of the Year in Mississippi and averages 15 points per game in her career at Horn Lake.
 
She has led the Eagles to both the Mississippi High School Activities Association Sweet 16 in 2021 and the Elite 8 in 2022.
 
Bowen is coached by Darryl Partee at Horn Lake.
 
As a junior, Bowen was also selected to participate in the Mississippi North vs. South 6A All Star Game and awarded Annual Shan Whiteside Sideline Cancer Classic Player of the Game. She earned Horn Lake's Diamond in the Rough MVP as a freshman. 
 
Besides basketball, Bowen also plays volleyball at Horn Lake. She was voted the school's Homecoming Queen in 2022.

Amiyah Buchanan
Amiyah Buchanan, a 6-0 forward from Evansville, Indiana, will graduate from Evansville North High School in May 2023. She is a two-year starter and letterwinner at Evansville North. 
 
The daughter of William Buchanan and Ashley O'Neal, Amiyah Buchanan, averaged 11.1 points and 7.2 rebounds as a junior while being named first team all-conference.
 
Buchanan is coached by Tyler Choate at Evansville North and plays club basketball for the Nike Lady Gym Rats under the instruction of Keith Hollins.
 
Buchanan intends to study Psychology or Education at SEMO.

Daejah Richmond
Daejah Richmond, a 5-8 point guard from Cordova, Tennessee, will graduate from First Assembly Christian School in May 2023. 
 
The daughter of Webster Smith and Denetra Richmond Smith, Daejah Richmond, earned first team all-district honors as a junior. 
Richmond is coached by Jeremy Moore at the First Assembly Christian School and also competes for Team Real Deal club team under the instruction of WNBA Champion and Memphis basketball legend Ashley Shields. 
 
Richmond intends to major in Sport Management at SEMO.
