Southeast Missouri leads the all-time series against Jacksonville State, 14-6. The last time these two teams met was at the Pete Mathews Coliseum where the Gamecocks topped the Redhawks, 55-48, on Jan. 27, 2018. SEMO is 2-1 against JSU under head coach Rekha Patterson with the lone loss coming last season. SEMO is 8-1 against JSU at the Show Me Center.

The Redhawks are currently 11-11 and 6-5 in Ohio Valley Conference play this season. Southeast Missouri recently had a three-game winning streak come to an end with a 91-57 setback at Belmont. SEMO swept SIUE with a 65-62 win in Edwardsville (Jan. 3) and 63-58 victory in Cape Girardeau (Jan. 24). It was the fifth OVC sweep under head coach Rekha Patterson and first against SIUE since 2013-14. Tesia Thompson leads the team with 17.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Carrie Shephard has 55 three-pointers this season, averaging 2.5 per game. SEMO has forced 15-plus turnovers in 18 contests during the 2018-19 season, totaling 417 forced turnovers for the year. In OVC play, SEMO has forced 179 total turnovers as opponents are committing 16.3 per contest against the Redhawks.

The Gamecocks are 10-12 overall and hold a 4-7 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play. JSU is 6-4 on the road this season with two of the wins coming in conference play. JSU averages 58.6 points, 42 rebounds and 16.2 turnovers per contest. Senior Rayven Pearson averages 10.1 points and 10 rebounds per game.
