Series History
This year marks the first-ever meeting between Southeast and New Orleans. The Redhawks and Privateers will square off against each other twice in 2012-13. UNO will return the trip when it visits Cape Girardeau on Dec. 8.
Nice Defense
Southeast leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks ninth out of 345 NCAA Division I teams in the nation in field goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting just 34.4 percent (173-of-503) against the Redhawks this year. Southeast has held all eight of its foes under 40 percent shooting. The Redhawks are also third in the OVC defending the three, limiting opponents to just 26.3 percent behind the arc.
Southeast Snaps Skid
The Redhawks ended their season-long three-game losing streak with a 96-55 victory over NAIA affiliate Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 26). Southeast improved to 6-0 all-time against NAIA schools under head coach Dickey Nutt.

The Redhawks shot a scorching 68.8 percent from three-point land against Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 26). Southeast missed just five times (11-of-16) from behind the arc, matching its season-high in three-point field goals made. A.J. Jones finished with a game-high six treys against the Trojans.
Smith Closing in on 200 Career Threes
Senior guard Marland Smith needs just two more treys to reach 200 three-pointers made in his Southeast career. Smith is currently 198-of-582 for a .340 clip from behind the arc. He ranks third on the team with 10 threes this season. Derek Winans (219, 2001-05) and Curtis Shelton (215, 1990-94) are the players in front of Smith on Southeast's all-time career three-point field goals made list.
Scoring Binge
Southeast's top-two scorers in Tyler Stone and Corey Wilford are on a roll. Stone, who leads the team and stands 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference with 15.3 points per game, has scored double figures in seven-straight starts. Meanwhile, Wilford, currently 13th in the OVC with 14.7 points per game, has pitched in 10 or more points in five-consecutive contests.

Southeast forward Nino Johnson leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 20 blocks in eight starts this season. Johnson, who ranks third on the team in scoring with 11.5 points and first in rebounding with 8.9 boards per game, has had multiple blocks in six contests. He finished with a season-high five swats against Louisiana Tech (Nov. 19) and is averaging 2.5 blocks per game. Southeast leads the league with a total of 34 blocked shots.
