This year marks the first-ever meeting between Southeast and New Orleans. The Redhawks and Privateers will square off against each other twice in 2012-13. UNO will return the trip when it visits Cape Girardeau on Dec. 8.

Southeast leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks ninth out of 345 NCAA Division I teams in the nation in field goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting just 34.4 percent (173-of-503) against the Redhawks this year. Southeast has held all eight of its foes under 40 percent shooting. The Redhawks ended their season-long three-game losing streak with a 96-55 victory over NAIA affiliate Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 26). Southeast improved to 6-0 all-time against NAIA schools under head coach Dickey Nutt.

Senior guard Marland Smith needs just two more treys to reach 200 three-pointers made in his Southeast career. Smith is currently 198-of-582 for a .340 clip from behind the arc. He ranks third on the team with 10 threes this season. Derek Winans (219, 2001-05) and Curtis Shelton (215, 1990-94) are the players in front of Smith on Southeast's all-time career three-point field goals made list.

Southeast's top-two scorers in Tyler Stone and Corey Wilford are on a roll. Johnson, who ranks third on the team in scoring with 11.5 points and first in rebounding with 8.9 boards per game, has had multiple blocks in six contests.
