Southeast went scoreless for 7:35 and Western Michigan took control with a 36-8 extended run to drop the Redhawks to 2-8.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A cold shooting effort put the Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team into a hole it could not overcome in a 67-34 loss at Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks (2-8) shot only 22.2 percent from the field and committed 21 turnovers in their setback.
The Broncos (2-6) started out with the first three points before a Karley Evans three-pointer evened the score at three apiece. Jazmine Windham's three-pointer following that possession put WMU back on top before a 6-2 spurt put Southeast ahead 9-8 at the 15:41 mark.
The score was tied, 12-12, following a Brittany Harriel layup, but Southeast went scoreless for the next 7:35 as Western scored 13 consecutive points to grab a 25-12 lead with 4:50 to go in the first. The Broncos outscored the Redhawks 24-6 over the final 12:11 of the opening stanza as WMU took a 36-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Broncos' extended their run to 36-8, going up 48-20 with 11:08 to play. WMU led by as many as 35 points in the game.
WMU shot 36.8 percent from the floor and held Southeast to 22.2 percent shooting. The Broncos hit 4-of-19 (21.1 percent)three-pointers compared to the Redhawks' 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) mark from long range. Western also held a 50-33 advantage in rebounding and forced 21 Southeast turnovers while committing only 13 miscues.
Evans led Southeast with 10 points, her third double-figure effort in the last four games, while also dishing out a team-best three assists. Bailie Roberts and Bianca Beck tied for the team lead with six rebounds.
Southeast returns to the court on Dec. 18 when it faces Central Michigan to start the Wright State Holiday Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.
