George Sanders enters his first year as Southeast Missouri’s defensive secondary/cornerbacks coach.
Sanders was the pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach for three years at the University of Incarnate Word from 2023-25.
Before that, he was cornerbacks coach for three seasons at Pittsburg State University.
Sanders was a defensive graduate assistant at Incarnate Word (2019) and Northeastern State (2018).
He was a standout player at Southwest Baptist from 2012-16. As a senior, Sanders helped lead the Bearcats win the Great Lake Valley Conference title and advance to the NCAA Division II Playoffs, both firsts in program history.
Sanders earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports, Fitness and Recreation Management from Southwest Baptist in December 2016.
He is a native of Houston, Texas and is married to Aprell Williams. They have one daughter, Destinee Sanders.
