2015 Outdoor: Saw action in seven meets…Set PRs in the 200m (26.08) and the 400m (56.37)…Helped team in first-place finish in the 4x400m (3:55.47) and placed second in the 400m (57.20) at the Joey Haines Invitational...Helped team finish eighth in the 4x400 (3:57.97) at the OVC Championships…Had seven top-five finishes.
2015 Indoor: Competed in six meets…Helped team to fifth-place finish in 4x400m relay (3:57.59) at the OVC Championships…Finished first in the 800m (2:27.27) at the Redhawks Invite…Had five top-five finishes.2014 Outdoor: Ran in five meets... Set a new PR in the 400m at the Red Wolf Open in 57.20 seconds, placing seventh... Helped the 4x400 relay team finish fourth at the OVC Championships.
2014 Indoor: Competed in six meets... Finished second in the 200m at the Redhawks Invite with in season-best 26.93 seconds... Finished second in the 600m at the Saluki Fast Start with a time of 1:40... Helped the 4x400 relay team take second place at the SEMO vs. SIUE Dual Meet.
2013 Outdoor: Ran in seven meets … Named a Southeast Scholar-Athlete … Part of Southeast’s third-place 4x400m relay team (3:50.07) at the OVC Outdoor Championships (5/3-4) … Ran an outdoor-best 27.12 to take ninth in the 200m at the Lenny Lyles-Clark Wood Invitational (4/19) … Took eighth in the 400m (season-best 58.31) at the Joey Haines Invitational (4/5-6)
2013 Indoor: Competed in six meets… Part of the Redhawks’ seventh-place 4x400m relay team (3:56.59) at the OVC Indoor Championships (2/22-23)… Took third in the 200m (season-best 26.32) and 400m (1:03.06) at the Indiana Relays (1/25-26)… Ran a season-best 1:01.59 in the 400m prelims at the conference meet.
Prep: Attended Prospective Leadership Academy… lettered all four years in high school… Senior year won fourth place in state championships in the indoor 4x400m relays… was also captain of the track team and was on the Dean’s List all four years of high school.
Personal: Born July 14, 1993… Daughter of Michael Spears and Denise Avrett… Pursuing a degree in Accounting.
