2017 Cross Country: Ran in five meets...Had three top-50 finishes...Placed fifth in the Walt Crawford Open (9/1) in 18:24.82...Took fourth in 18:58.02 at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival (9/8)...Placed 40th in the OVC Championships (10/28) in 18:37.5.
 
2017 Outdoor: Competed in six meets...Had two top-5 finishes...Finished third in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2017 Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invite (3/31) in 11:30.17 and Georgia Tech Invitational (4/21) in 11:13.90 (PR, Fourth All-Time in SEMO History)...Placed 10th in the 3000m steeplechase at the OVC Championships (5/11) in 11:41.55.
 
2017 Indoor: Competed in five meets...Had three top-5 finishes...Placed third in the mile at the SEMO vs. SIU-Edwardsville Dual (12/9) in 5:24.67...Finished second in the distance medley relay at the 2017 Indiana University Relays (1/27) in 12:40.68...Placed fifth in the DMR at the Music City Challenge (2/10) in 12:22.06...Finished sixth in the DMR at the OVC Championship (2/24) in 12:46.78 and 11th in the mile in 5:11.13.

2016 Cross Country: Ran in six races…Had two top-30 finishes…Took 20th at the Rebel Invitational (9/9) with a time of 18:24.5…Finished in 28th place (18:15.5) at the OVC Championship (10/29)…Helped team to an eighth-place finish at the Bradley Pink Classic (10/14) placing 57th with a time of 22:01.5.

2016 Outdoor: Competed in seven meets…Totaled five top-10 finishes…Set career-bests in the 800m (2:25.80), 1500m (4:42.50), 3000m (10:10.12) and 5000m (17:23.86) races…Won the 3000m (PR) at the WKU Hilltopper Relays (4/9)…Claimed the 1500m title at the SIUE Gateway Invite (4/16) with her personal-best time…Finished seventh in the 5000m (17:42) at the OVC Championship (5/14).

2016 Indoor: Competed in six meets…Set a new PR in the mile with a time of 5:05.59…Recorded five top-10 finishes…Collected two second-place finishes at the Missouri Invitational (1/15) in the mile (PR) and 3000m (10:17.46)…Took fourth in the 800m (2:27.28) at the SIUE Dual Meet (1/29)…Member of distance relay team to place fifth at the OVC Championship (2/27) with a time of 12:19.49.

2015 Cross Country: Ran in all six races…Paced the women’s team at the NCAA Midwest Regional (91st, 22:02.7)…Had three top-60 finishes…Finished in sixth place at the Gabby Reuveni Early Bird with a time of 15:09…Narrowly missed All-Conference honors at the OVC Championships, finishing in 17th place with a time of 18:18.8…One of five Redhawks to finish in the top-100 (59th, 17:53.27) out of 436 total competitors at the Chile Pepper Festival.

2015 Outdoor: Competed in eight meets…Set PRs in the 1500m (4:43.37) and 3000m (10:26.78)…Finished third in the 1500m (4:54.57) at the Joey Haines Invitational…Placed 11th in the 1500m (PR) at the OVC Championships…Had three top-10 finishes.

2015 Indoor: Did not compete…Named Southeast Scholar-Athlete.

2014 Cross Country: Ran in all seven meets in 2014... Sumner finished seventh at the Gabby Reuveni Early Bird with a time of 15:06... Finished fifth in Carbondale, Illinois at the Saluki Invitational in 18:24... Took 22nd at the OVC Championships with a time of 18:20. 

2014 Outdoor: Did not compete. 

2014 Indoor: Ran in three indoor meets... Finished the mile run in third place at the SEMO vs. SIUE Dual Meet with a time of 5:17... Helped the distance medley relay team to a second-place finish at the same meet with a time of 13:03. 

2013 Cross Country: Competed in only two meets... Placed third at the Washington Early Bird (8/31) in a time of 15:02... Finished second at the SIUE Cross Country Challenge (9/13) in 18:26. 

Prep: Graduated from Eureka High School in 2013… Earned all-state honors after winning the 4x800… Named all-district and all-sectional for cross country… Earned all-conference, all-district and all-sectional honors as a freshman as well as qualified for the state championships… PR for 5k is 18:32.

Personal: Born July 5, 1994… Daughter of Bill and Jean Sumner… Majoring in Exercise Science.
