Marc Wilson was elevated to Southeast Missouri's Associate Head Coach on May 15, 2018.

Wilson brings 20 years of coaching and recruiting experience to Southeast. He most recently served as a girls’ basketball coach at Butler Traditional High School in Louisville, Kentucky for the past year. He helped the Bears to a 33-3 overall record and a second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance.

Prior to his stint at Butler, he spent 19 seasons at the Division I ranks, most recently as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Clemson University. He joined the Tigers’ staff in 2013 and held the position through the 2015-16 season. He helped the Tigers to the most wins (13, 2013-14) in a season since 2009.

Before Clemson, he spent four successful seasons (2009-13) at UAB as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator. The Blazers made an appearance in the WNIT in 2013 and won the WBI in 2011. The Blazers led Conference USA in scoring defense for three-straight seasons. In 2011-12, UAB allowed just 49.1 points per game, third-best mark in the country. The Blazers recorded a 20-win season in 2011 and made an appearance in the 2010 C-USA championship game.

Wilson’s resume also includes stops as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Indiana (2006-09), Kent State (2004-06), and Rhode Island (2001-04). The Hoosiers punched their ticket to three consecutive WNIT appearances (2007-09) including putting together a 20-win season in 2009. Kent State went 42-18 during Wilson’s two-year tenure including two MAC championship game appearances and a 2005 MAC East Division Title. His three seasons at Rhode Island included an Atlantic 10 championship appearance in 2003, the first since 1984.

His women’s basketball coaching career kicked off at his alma mater, the University of Minnesota, in 1997, a role he held for four seasons. Wilson recruited four of Minnesota’s top seven high school players in the class of 2000 which included Nike High School All-American Tanisha Gilbert and All-Big Ten and All-American Lindsey Whalen.

In his recruiting career, Wilson recruited three WNBA draft picks: Lindsay Whalen, Minnesota, 2004, No. 4 overall to Connecticut Sun; Janel McCarville, Minnesota, 2005, No. 1 overall to Charlotte Sting; and Jori Davis, Indiana, 2011, No. 33 to Indiana Fever.

His first coaching job was as the head men’s coach at Anoka Ramsey Community College in Anoka, Minnesota. He led the Golden Rams for two seasons from 1995-97.

Wilson graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology, Law, and Behavior. He was a four-year student-athlete for the Gophers from 1982-86. He was team co-captain and MVP in 1986 while leading the team in scoring, assists, and free-throw percentage. He was an All-Big Ten Freshman Team honoree in 1983 and an honorable mention in 1983 and 1986. He finished his career as a member of the school’s top-10 all-time scoring, assists, and steals lists.
