Aisha Foy is in her first season as the Redhawks Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant. Foy’s primary responsibilities include overseeing team social media, pre- and postgame film, alumni communication, coordinating community service, and assisting with student-athlete career planning.
Foy comes to Southeast following a highly successful career on and off the court at Radford University in Radford, Virginia.
Foy’s expansive awards and honors from her playing career include being a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year, receiving Radford’s Senior Leadership Award, selected Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, and Center for Diversity & Inclusion Established Leader Award.
Extracurricular and volunteer activities included serving on the Executive Board of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years, planning committee for the Ignite Student Leadership Conference, volunteering for Big Brother Big Sisters for three years, as well as being the president and founder of a leadership development organization on campus.
Foy has attended Independent Women Achieving Goals in Education (IWAGE) workshops as well as attending the NACWAA Women’s Leadership symposium. She dedicated time her final semester interning with the Radford women’s basketball team and with the Senior Women’s Administrator.
In her career, Foy made 82 starts and played in 113 games in four years for the Highlanders. In her career, she averaged 8.5 points per game, shot 35.7% from the field, and 35.1% from beyond the arc. She also hit 75% of her free throw shots in four years. Foy dished out a total of 209 assists while picking up 77 steals. She fell just 45 points shy of entering Radford’s 1,000-point club. Her 129 3-pointers finished fifth all-time in program history.
She was a First Team All-Big South honoree in 2015-16 after leading the team with 12.2 points per game. She was also chosen to attend the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want to be a Coach" program. She made 25 starts as a senior before suffering a career-ending ACL injury late in the season.
Foy earned All-Big South Second Team honors for her efforts during her junior season. She was second on the team in scoring for the second consecutive year at 10.3 points per game. She shot a team-best 80.8% from the free throw line.
A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Foy received her Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration with a minor in Business. She is working toward her graduate degree in Higher Education with a concentration in Sports Administration.
Foy played AAU basketball for Boo Williams Norfolk Xpress Basketball organization that was founded by her mother, Adrena Foy. Her mother has worked to grow the organization to be nationally recognized for developing college athletes and professional players.
