Morris Lolar 2025

Morris Lolar

Morris Lolar enters his second year as Southeast Missouri’s cornerbacks coach.

Lolar mentored Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference-Big South cornerback Justus Johnson in his first season with the Redhawks in 2024. Johnson ranked second on the team with two interceptions that year.

Lolar comes to Cape Girardeau after working with the defensive backfield at Missouri Valley College in 2023.

Before Missouri Valley, he was an assistant coach at Dodge City Community College and worked as the secondary coach for the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouttes for one season (2019).

Lolar has previous head coaching experience spending three seasons a the helm of NAIA member Bethel College (Kan.).

Other coaching stops for Lolar include Defiance College, Independence CC (defensive coordinator), Texas A&M-Commerce and the Indoor Football League’s Wichita Wild.

Lolar played college football at the University of Minnesota and Friends University. He was a two-time First-Team All-American defensive back at Friends. Lolar later played six years in the CFL between the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers organizations.
