Mario McClendon is in his first year as nickelbacks coach at Southeast Missouri.
McClendon spent the last season as cornerbacks coach and on campus recruiting coordinator at Central Connecticut State.
Before that, he was an assistant safeties coach for one year at New Mexico State and defensive assistant working with the cornerbacks for two seasons at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
McClendon coached the running backs and defensive backs, and was a special education teacher at Tift High School prior to his college coaching career.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Missouri State in 2018 and received his Master’s of Education degree from Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2025.
McClendon was a team captain and two-year starting cornerback at Missouri State.
