Sack Hunger
Southeast Missouri State University Athletics and Southeast Missouri Food Bank announced a new partnership for the 2023 SEMO Football season.
This season, the Redhawks and Southeast Missouri Food Bank are teaming up with the Sikeston Jaycees, First Midwest Bank, and Midwest Sterilization, in an effort to SACK HUNGER throughout southeast Missouri. For each defensive quarterback sack recorded against opposing teams this season, the Sikeston Jaycees, First Midwest Bank, and Midwest Sterilization will each donate $100 to the Southeast Missouri Food Bank. Every $1 donated to the Southeast Missouri Food Bank provides 4 meals, which means that each Redhawk sack this season will provide 1,200 meals to Southeast Missouri families facing hunger. Last year, during the 2022 season campaign of Sack Hunger, the Redhawks managed to get 28 sacks raising $8,400 for Southeast Missouri Food Bank!
