1986-87 Womens Basketball Team

Head Coach: Ed Arnzen.

Players: Pat Colon, Anne Cook, Michelle Daniel, Sandy Heitschmidt, Michelle Horneker, Angela James, Vicki Lohmann, Jill Pizzotti, Vera Roberts, Sherri Shirrell, Stephanie Williams.

The 1986-1987 SEMO women's basketball team put together an overall record of 26-4, won the program's first outright Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) title with a 13-1 mark and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament. SEMO had a 13-game winning streak from Jan. 7-Feb. 11 that year. The 1986-87 team won the school's first-ever MIAA Tournament crown after beating both then-Missouri-Rolla (76-64) and Cental Missouri (78-55). Ed Arnzen was named the MIAA Coach of the Year, while Sandy Heitschmidt (first-team), Pat Colon (second-team), Stephanie Williams (honorable mention) and Sherri Shirrell (honorable mention) earned All-MIAA honors.
