Nebraska: Spent the last three years at the University of Nebraska…Two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and three-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll honoree…Was named to the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship teams in 2018 and 2019…Participated in two games and threw for 13 yards in the fourth quarter at Minnesota before leading Nebraska’s final drive in a win over Maryland during the 2019 campaign…Played in five games, completing 31-of-47 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns in 2018…Started the second game of that season vs. Troy…Also rushed for 40 yards on 16 carries…Made his Husker debut in the season-opener against Colorado, completing 4-of-9 passes for 49 yards…Threw for 177 yards on 19-of-177 passes, and tossed his first two career touchdowns in his start vs. Troy…Came off the bench and led Nebraska’s only touchdown drive at #19 Michigan…Redshirted as Nebraska’s No. 3 quarterback in 2017.

Prep: Was a three-year starter at Independence High School in Tennessee…Amassed 7,747 passing yards, 79 passing touchdowns, 1,140 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns in his career…Earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior…Was also the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the state championship game in 2015…As a senior, he helped lead Independence to a 15-0 record and the Tennessee Division I Class 5A state title…Threw for 3,405 yards and 41 touchdowns, and ran for 520 yards and another nine touchdowns in 2015…Accumulated 2,802 passing yards and 24 touchdowns, while running for 501 yards and 12 TDs in 2014…Finished his sophomore year with 1,497 passing yards and 13 touchdowns…Made one varsity appearance as a freshman and had one touchdown pass.
