CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — The Southeast Missouri Soccer team returns for two more games. On Thursday, September 11
th the squad will travel to Murray, Kentucky to take on Murray State at 3 p.m. On Sunday, September 14
th the Redhawks will host Kansas City with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. in Houck Field.Â
Series History
Murray State
SEMO is 10-13-1 against former OVC foe Murray State and have won 2 out of the last three games on the road. The last meeting came last season which saw the Racers pull out a 2-1 win in Hauck Field. The last time these teams faced off in Murray, the Redhawks pitched a 2-0 shutout.Â
Kansas City
This will be the fourth matchup against the Roos. The last meeting between the schools was in 2013 which saw Kansas City win 2-1. SEMO won the first ever meeting against the Roos 3-1, back in 2009.
Donate Life Game
On Sunday, against Kansas City, the soccer team will be wearing green and blue jerseys as SEMO Athletics partners up with Mid-America Transplant for the Donate Life game.Â
The Donate Life games raise awareness for the importance of organ and tissue donation. Mid-America Transplant is the regional organ procurement organization (OPO) responsible for facilitating safe, reliable donations.Â
Fans are encouraged to wear blue and green along with the team to support this lifesaving cause. Registered organ donors can receive a sponsored water bottle while supplies last. Along with the water bottle giveaway there will also be a Peace Love Energy drink giveaway. They will be serving up blue and green drinks to support Donate Life!
Last Time Out
Last Sunday, the Redhawks fell on the road against Indiana State 5-0. The Sycamores outshot the Redhawks 21-11 (13-4 shots on goal).
Melissa Kubin led the team with two shots, both on goal.
Olivia Klinkhardt also put a shot on target, while also playing the full 90 minutes for the first time in her career.
Cayla Koerner also played the full game, she started the game in goal and made five saves in 33 minutes, before finishing the game in the field.
Hogenmiller Facing Her Former Team
The Racers will see a familiar face on the field as
Hayley Hogenmiller returns to face the team she used to suit up with. Hogenmiller played three seasons with the Racers appearing in 10 games.Â

Madison Geisler still sidelined with injuries,
Macie Hockett stepped up and relieved
Cayla Koerner in goal against Indiana State. Hockett played 56 minutes in net and made three saves on six shots on goal. She faced eight shots total.Â
A Look at Murray State
Murray State is 4-3-1 and drew 0-0 with Austin Peay the last time out. As a squad they average 1.12 goals per game and 16.6 shots per game. On the other hand, they are allowing 1.75 goals per game and 13.1 shots against. Their leading scorer is forward Breece Bass, who has totaled six pints with two goals and two assists. Bass was also named to the preseason All-MVC team.Â
