CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southeast Missouri Soccer (0-3-0) dropped Thursday night's contest at Southern Illinois (2-0-0) by a final score of 2-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Madison Geisler faced 11 SIU shots-on-goal and made nine saves marking a season-high for the Manchester, Mo.-native. The Redhawks were outshot 21-6, 11-3 SOGs.
Two Redhawks finished with a pair of shots in midfielders
Zerina Markovic and
Justi Nelson. For Markovic, both of her shots were on target Thursday evening.
Laia Amat registered a shot in the contest, making her first start in a Redhawk uniform and playing 80-minutes.
Five Redhawks played the full 90-minutes in
Cayla Koerner,
Emma Cloud,
Madison Geisler,
Melissa Kubin, and
Zoe Houston.
SIU socred a goal in the first half and a goal in the second half. Dory Latenser scored in the 36
th minute before Dana Nadda found the final goal in the 82
nd minute.
The Redhawks will return to action next Thursday, August 28, when they host Missouri State. Kickoff Is slated for 4 p.m., CT. at Houck Field.
