Redhawks Host In-State Foe Missouri State Tuesday Night at Show Me Center
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (1-1) will play their second-straight home game on Tuesday, November 11, as they welcome in-state foe Missouri State (2-0) to the Show Me Center. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m., CT. in Cape Girardeau. 
 
Empowering Women
Tuesday's contest will feature 'Women's Empowerment Night' at the Show Me Center sponsored by Crumbl. Six women owned businesses will be setup on the concourse at the Show Me Center; Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau, Victoria's Creamery, Gorgeousware, Board & Brush Creative Studio, Mary Jane Bourbon + Smokehouse, and Busch Pet Products. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. as fans are encouraged to complete the 'Vendor Booth Punch Card' as you explore the concourse to receive a SEMO patch tote bag. 
 
Series History
Tuesday's meeting between the Redhawks and Bears marks the 17th all-time matchup between the two programs on the hardwood. SEMO trails the overall series by a 2-14 mark with the last victory coming in Cape Girardeau during the 2008 season. Last season, MSU traveled to Cape Girardeau and won 77-49 at the Show Me Center. 
 
In the Win Column
SEMO Women's Basketball picked up the first victory of the season with a 71-66 defeat of Evansville in the Show Me Center last Thursday morning. Four Redhawks scored in double figures led by guards Lexi McCully and Charmen Taylor with 16 points each. Forward Kearra Jones and center Ainaya Williams each had 14 points as the Redhawks shot an impressive 40-percent from the floor as a team. 
 
Dominate the Paint
The Redhawks owned the paint against Evansville last Thursday, outscoring the Aces by a 36-24 advantage. Center Ainaya Williams made four-of-five shots in the paint to lead the Redhawks frontcourt in scoring. 
 
The Leader
Graduate guard Lexi McCully finished with 16 points for the second-straight game against Evansville, tied for the team-high on Thursday. McCully is now averaging 16.0 PPG through two games and is shooting an impressive 46.2-percent from the field. She is also shooting an impressive 36.4-percent from beyond the three-point line. 
 
Win the 4th
Through two games, the Redhawks have done an impressive job of winning the fourth quarter against Illinois (11/4) and Evansville (11/6). SEMO won the fourth quarter against Illinois by a 24-19 margin before turning around two days later and winning the fourth by a 29-20 advantage over Evansville. On the season, SEMO is winning the fourth quarter by a 53-39 advantage. 
 
Through Two Games
The Redhawks scored a season-high 71 points against Evansville, four more points than they recorded at Illinois (67). As a team, SEMO is averaging 69.0 PPG while shooting 37.7-percent from the field, 27.6-percent from three, and 70-percent at the foul line.

Center Ainaya Williams recorded a pair of blocks against Evansville, bringing her season total to three blocks in just two games. The blocks marked the 10th straight game for Williams with at least a block dating back to the 24-25 campaign. 
 
The Key
Kearra Jones, nicknamed 'Key' by her teammates and coaches, scored a season-high 14 points against Evansville. In two games, Jones has dumped in 23 points after scoring nine against Illinois in the season opener. Her career-high points came a season ago at Mississippi Valley State where she scored 20 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. She is the third-highest scorer on average through two games, averaging 11.5 PPG. 
 
First Career Start
Graduate guard Charmen Taylor made her first SEMO career start last Thursday morning against Evansville. Taylor, who scored 11 points off the bench at Illinois, tied Lexi McCully for the team-high with 16 points against Evansville. She is now averaging 13.5 points per game over 32.7 minutes per game for the Redhawks. She is shooting 37.5-percent from the field and a near perfect 87.5-percent at the foul line (7-8). 
 
Active Defensively
Through two games, the SEMO defense has created extra chances for their offense. The Redhawks have recorded 16 steals, averaging 8.0 steals per game in two games led by three Redhawks who each have three steals. Charmen Taylor, Ainaya Williams, and Noelani Dunn have nine of SEMO's 16 steals this season. 
 
Window Cleaner
Junior center Aa'Mya Stacker is the leading rebounder for the Redhawks through two games. Coming off the bench in each of the first two games, Stacker has recorded 15 rebounds for an average of 7.5 RPG. She has collected a team-high four offensive rebounds and 11 defensive rebounds over 39-minutes of action. 
 
Impact Freshman
Freshman guard Zoey Rixter is impacting the game off the bench for the Redhawks through two games. The Memphis, Tennessee-native is the second leading rebounder on the team with 11 boards in just 42-minutes of play. She has recorded a block and two steals over that time and is averaging 4.5 PPG including a career-high six points against Evansville. 
 
Assists Per Game
Through two games, the Redhawks have dished out 18 assists bringing their season average to 9.0 assists per game. Lexi McCully leads the club with five total assists, followed by Carmen Taylor (4), and Noelani Dunn (3). The Redhawks have an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.5.
