Redhawks Back at Home
•    Southeast Missouri returns home to host UT Martin Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., CT at the Show Me Center.
•    SEMO finishes up its third month of the season against the Skyhawks and is at home for the first time in 16 days.
•    The Redhawks recently went 2-1 during a three-game road trip that included wins at Tennessee Tech (77-70, Jan. 16) and Western Illinois (72-51, Jan. 25).
•    SEMO will be at home for five of its next eight contests. The Redhawks remain home to face Tennessee State on Feb. 1.

Series Notes
•    Southeast Missouri and UT Martin, schools located less than two hours away, meet for the 92nd time Thursday.
•    SEMO leads the all-time series by a count of 51-40. The Skyhawks won the first meeting between the teams this season, 66-63, in Martin, Tenn. on Jan. 4.
•    The Skyhawks won nine of the last 10 games of the series.
•    SEMO is 37-9 all-time against UTM at the Show Me Center.
•    The Redhawks look to end a five-game losing streak in the series.

Second Half of League Play Begins 
•    The Redhawks are 6-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play midway through its conference schedule.
•    Southeast Missouri begins the second half of league action with two games at home this week -- vs. UT Martin (Jan. 30); vs. Tennessee State (Feb. 1).
•    After this week's games, SEMO embarks on a key road trip which includes games at OVC leader Morehead State (Feb. 6), Southern Indiana (Feb. 8) and second-place Little Rock (Feb. 11).
•    The rest of the OVC slate features home games against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 15), Western Illinois (Feb. 20) and Lindenwood (Feb. 22), and road matchups at SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 27) and Eastern Illinois (Mar. 1).

OVC Update 
•    Southeast Missouri (6-4) is third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with 10 games remaining. 
•    Morehead State (8-2) tops the standings followed by Little Rock (7-3) and SIU Edwardsville (7-3) who are in a tie for second.
•    Southeast Missouri recorded its 10th win of the season with a 77-70 road victory over Tennessee Tech (Jan. 16).
•    SEMO became the fourth OVC team to 10 wins joining Morehead State, Little Rock and SIUE at the time.
•    At 11-10 overall and 6-4 in OVC play, the Redhawks have surpassed their number of overall (9) and OVC (4) wins from 2024-25.
•    SEMO began the 2024-25 season with a 3-0 record in OVC play marking the first time it won three-straight games to start a conference season since 2011-12.
•    The Redhawks beat Eastern Illinois (79-72, Dec. 19), SIU Edwardsville (80-64, Dec. 21) and Southern Indiana (77-66, Jan. 9) at home, and Tennessee State (67-65, Jan. 2) and Tennessee Tech (77-70, Jan. 16) on the road for their OVC wins this year.
•    SEMO won six of its last 10 OVC games dating back to last year's season-ending 70-66 victory at Southern Indiana.

Eight of 12
•    Southeast Missouri won eight of its last 12 games with five of those victories coming in Cape Girardeau.
•    SEMO saw a season-long five-game winning streak end with a three-point (66-63) loss at UT Martin (Jan. 4).
•    The Redhawks had a six-game home winning streak until their 67-56 loss to Morehead State (Jan. 11).
•    SEMO is 3-2 at the Show Me Center and 3-2 on the road in conference play thus far.

Redhawks Use Big Second Half to Slam Western Illinois
•    Brendan Terry scored a career-high 19 points and Rob Martin added 16 to lead Southeast Missouti to its largest road win of the season at Western Illinois (Jan. 25).
•    SEMO outscored WIU, 45-28, in the second half en route to its 72-51 win.
•    The 21-point victory was the Redhawks largest road victory since they beat Eastern Illinois, 87-58 (+29), on Jan. 22, 2022.
•    SEMO never trailed against WIU and handed the Leathernecks their sixth-straight loss.

Biel Contributes
•    TJ Biel gave the Redhawks a nice boost off the bench in his last two games.
•    Biel scored seven points and had seven rebounds at Lindenwood (Jan. 23) before turning around to finish with 10 points and seven boards at Western Illinois (Jan. 25).
•    He averaged 23 minutes per game and shot 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the field in that stretch.
•    Additionally, Biel had a highlight-reel alleyoop dunk and threw down another dunk off a missed 3-pointer by Teddy Washington, Jr.

Terry Runs Scoring Average to Double Figures
•    For the first time this season, Brendan Terry is averaging double figures in the scoring column.
•    Terry averaged 16.5 points in two starts a week ago.
•    He scored 14 points at Lindenwood (Jan. 23) and followed that up with a career-best 19 at Western Illinois (Jan. 25).
•    Terry is now averaging 10.2 points per game as one of three Redhawks scoring double-digits this season.

Nice Defense
•    Southeast Missouri has held its opponent under 70 points in seven of its last 10 games.
•    SEMO (67.3 ppg allowed) is third in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring defense behind SIU Edwardsville (66.4 ppg allowed) and Little Rock (66.5 ppg allowed).
•    The Redhawks limited Western Illinois to only 51 points on Jan. 25, the lowest point total by any opponent against SEMO this year.

200 Assists in Sight
•    Point guard Rob Martin (193) is just seven assists away from reaching 200 in his career.
•    Martin leads Southeast Missouri and ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference with 85 assists through 21 games this season.
•    He averages four assists per game and has dished out five or more a total of five times.
•    Martin finished with a career-high nine assists in SEMO's OVC opener against Eastern Illinois (Dec. 19).
•    Jonathan Dalton was the last Redhawk to get 200 or more assists in a career (315, 2016-19).

Martin Leads the Way
•    Rob Martin scored double figures in six-straight games.
•    Martin scored 15 points against Southern Indiana (Jan. 9) and followed that up with 21 vs. Morehead State (Jan. 11), 19 vs. Little Rock (Jan. 14), 13 at Tennessee Tech (Jan. 16), 12 at Lindenwood (Jan. 23) and 16 at Western Illinois (Jan. 25).
•    He is SEMO's second-leading scorer with 11.8 points per game through 21 starts this season.
•    Martin finished as the Redhawks top scorer a total of five times in 2024-25.

About UT Martin
•    UT Martin is in a three-way tie for fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State. All three are 5-5 in OVC action.
•    UTM lost its five league games by a combined eight points. Four of those losses were by one point.
•    Tarence Guinyard (15.9 ppg), Josué Grullon (13.9 ppg) and Vladimer Salaridze (11.3 ppg) top the Skyhawks in scoring.
•    Guinyard is sixth in the OVC in scoring.
•    The Skyhawks rank second in the league with 14 offensive rebounds per game.
•    UTM has 13 international players on its 17-man roster and is under the direction of first-year Head Coach Jeremy Shulman.

Major Improvement
•    After finishing 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference in free throw shooting a year ago, Southeast Missouri ranks second in that category.
•    Through 21 games, SEMO is shooting 71.3 percent (251-of-352) behind Southern Indiana's 72.5 percent (285-of-393) clip.
•    In conference games alone, the Redhawks are shooting 74.1 percent (143-of-193) behind Little Rock (75.4 percent).

OVC Leader in Turnover Margin
•    The Redhawks are first in the Ohio Valley Conference with a +3.14 turnover margin.
•    Southeast Missouri is committing a league low 10.7 turnovers per game while forcing 13.8.
•    SEMO turned the ball over less than 10 times a total of eight games this season.
•    The Redhawks had a season-low six turnovers at Western Illinois (Jan. 25).

Redhawks Fourth in the Nation  Defending the Three
•    Southeast Missouri is fourth in the nation in 3-point percentage defense behind Tennessee (.254), Appalachian State (.274) and UNC Greensboro (.275).
•    Opponents are shooting just 27.8 percent from downtown against Southeast Missouri this season.
•    SEMO has held its opponent to five or less 3-pointers made in 14 of its 21 games in 2024-25.
•    Opponents have not made more than four 3-pointer against the Redhawks in three-straight games.
•    There are a total of 355 NCAA Division I basketball teams.
