CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri enjoys a successful day two of the Joey Haines Invite as Shea DeGraaf, Anna Thomason, and Makenzie Williams all place first. The Redhawks finished with ten new PR's during day two.
The Redhawks also had four athletes, Hannah Eastman, Garrett Dumke, Terrico Garrett, and Markeith Crawford, compete at the WashU Invitational in St. Louis, Mo., yesterday and today.
At the Joey Haines Invite, Anna Thomason claimed the top spot in the heptathlon with 5006 points for a new personal record.
Shea DeGraaf tabbed 7029 points to take gold in the decathlon and achieve a new personal record.
Kaitlyn McGinnitey chalked up 4432 points to place second in the heptathlon.
With 6253 points Isaac Readnour took fourth and a new personal record in the decathlon.
Tayler Gudde and Kendall Holweg posted fourth and seventh place with 4324 points and 3966 points (New PR) in the Heptathlon.
Decathlon Day 2
In the 110m hurdle race Readnour had the fastest time of 15.45 and DeGraaf placed third with a time of 15.65.
The discus saw DeGraaf take the silver medal (130' 5") and a new PR and Isaac Readnour threw for a mark 97' 11.
DeGraaf cleared a height of 15' 9" for first and Readnour vaulted over a height of 15' 1" for second in the pole vault.
With throws of 186' 7" and 142' 0" DeGraaf and Readnour finished first and seventh in the javelin.
Readnour ran the 1500-meter in 5:23.31 for seventh.
Heptathlon Day 2
Thomason achieved a new personal best jump of 18' 6" in the long jump.
Holweg jumped 17' 4.25" (3rd), McGinnitey jumped for a distance of 17' 2.75(4th), and Gudde jumped 16' 6.50 (7th).
The Redhawks placed second, third, sixth, seventh in the javelin; Gudde (108' 8"), Holweg (106' 7"), McGinnitey (99' 5", New PR), and Thomason (97' 3").
Gudde crossed the line at 2:25.11 to claim gold in the 800-meter.
Thomason finished with a time of 2:32.07 (2nd), McGinnitey notched a time of 2:44.24 (7th), and Holweg posted a time of 2:52.55 (8th) in the 800-meter.
Women's Hammer Throw
Makenzie Williams claimed the top spot on the podium in the women's weight throw. Williams threw for a distance of 184' 01" (56.11m).
Piper Klinger placed fourth with a mark of 165' 07" (50.49m).
Bailie Hux and Alivia Busch both recorded new PR's and placed seventh and eighth. Hux threw to the distance of 162' 01" (49.41m) and Busch notched 159' 01" (48.50m).
Men's Hammer Throw
Parker Feuerborn finished in third place throwing to the distance of 231' 02" (70.47m). Marshall Swadley finished in fourth right behind Feuerborn. Swadley had a throw of 207' 07" (63.27m).
Paden Lewis and Quinton Maxwell both threw for personal best. Lewis threw to the distance of 202' 01" (61.61m) placing sixth and Maxwell had a throw of 161' 08" (49.28m) placing 14th.
WashU Distance Carnival
Yesterday Hannah Eastman claimed 15th in the 10,000-meter run with a new personal best time of 35:44.18 at the WashU Distance Carnival.
Today at the WashU Distance Carnival, Garrett Dumke crossed the finish line in 31:41.8 in the men's 10,000-meter for a new personal best.
Terrico Garrett placed second in Heat 4 of the men's 800 with a time of 1:50.91 and Mark Crawford placed second in Men's 800 meter in Heat, finishing with a time of 1:54.42.
Day three of the Joey Haines will begin at 11:00 a.m with the shot put. The Track events are slated for noon with the 3000m Steeplechase.
