Redhawks Wrap-Up Homestand Saturday Versus Tennessee State
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (6-16, 3-8 OVC) will wrap-up a three game homestand against Tennessee State (7-14, 4-7 OVC) on Saturday, February 10, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m., CT. at the Show-Me Center.Â

The Redhawks and Tigers will meet for the 54
th time on Saturday afternoon, and the first and only time in 2023-24. SEMO maintains a 29-24 series lead and swept the Tigers a season ago. Last time the two matched up, the Redhawks won 90-86 in Nashville, Tenn. in an overtime thriller.Â

Career-High Alecia Doyle
Sophomore guard
Alecia Doyle dropped 31 points on Thursday night against Tennessee Tech for a new career high. Doyle, the Redhawks' second-leading scorer, finished 12-23 from the floor and 4-6 from three-point range. The sophomore now has 15 double-digit point games on the season and is averaging 13.5 points-per-game.Â

Flowers Dishes it Out
Junior guard
Kiyley Flowers recorded a new SEMO career-high in assists during Thursday's contest. The Raymore, Mo.-native dished out nine assists passing her previous high of seven from 2022-23. The junior is averaging 3.3 assists-per-game so far this season.Â

Season-High from Three
The Redhawks were deadly from three-point range on Thursday night, shooting 5-10 from beyond the arc (50-percent), led by
Alecia Doyle who was 4-6 from deep. The performance tied a previous 50-percent performance against Lindenwood on Jan. 11.Â

Last Time Out
SEMO most recently fell to Tennessee Tech, 76-66, at the Show-Me Center on Thursday night led by
Alecia Doyle with 31 points.Â
Doyle, who scored eight straight points in the fourth quarter, finished the night on a 12-23 shooting performance and was an impressive 4-6 from three-point land. Doyle was the lone Redhawk in double figures in the contest.

As a team, SEMO shot the ball at a 46-percent clip (27-59) and was exactly 50-percent from three-point range (5-10), led by Doyle.Â

The Redhawks struggled at the free-throw line during Thursday's contest, shooting just 38-percent (7-18) compared to TTU who finished 15-17 from the charity stripe (15-17).Â

TTU was led by guard Peyton Carter who finished with a team-high 19 points. The Golden Eagles had three players finish in double-digits including Carter, Maaliya Owens (18), and Anna Walker (14).Â

The Redhawks lost the battle on the glass by just four, 33-29, but hauled in more offensive rebounds than TTU, converting them into six points.

Tennessee State
The eighth ranked Tigers enter the Show Me Center losing 81-73 in double overtime to Lindenwood most recently.

Guard Zyion Shannon shot 13-24 (54.2%) from the floor, 60% from deep (3-5) and 3-4 from the charity stripe for 32 points against the Lions for the fifth most points in a game this season in the OVC.

The sophomore guard hauled in three rebounds and notched one steal and assit off the bench. Shannon averages 10 PPG, the second most on the team.

Lyric Cole played 43 minutes and posted a line of 13 points, 4-5 (80%) shooting, and 14 rebounds, nine being offensive bringing her total to 83 on the year.

Sanaa' St. Andre scored eight points and took the ball away twice. The senior leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.1 PPG, ranked fifth in the OVC. Andre has 41 steals on the year (2.1 steals per game) for fourth most in the conference.

TSU averages 63.3 points per game ranked 10th in the OVC with a game high 86 points scored. The Tigers give up 70.6 points per game, ranking ninth in the conference.
