Redhawks Wrap-Up Road Trip Saturday at SIUE
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (7-17, 4-9 OVC) will wrap-up this two-game road stretch on Saturday, Feb. 17, when they take on SIUE (5-21, 2-11 OVC). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m., CT. at First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Ill.Â

The Redhawks and Cougars will meet for the 54
th time on Saturday afternoon and the second time in 2023-24. Earlier this season, SEMO downed SIUE 86-73 on January 20 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Redhawks maintain a 31-22 series advantage over the Cougars.Â

On Thursday night, freshman
Indiya Bowen led all scorers with 20 points setting a new career-best against Eastern Illinois. Bowen, from Nesbit, Miss., now has 11 games in 2023-24 with double-digit points and is on a two-game streak in double figures.Â

Sophomore guard
Alecia Doyle is the Redhawks' top scorer in Ohio Valley Conference play this season. Through 13 conference games, Doyle is averaging 14.6 points-per-game and shooting nearly 40-percent from the field in those contests (.380). She also leads the teams in rebounds-per-game (5.2), and free-throw percentage (.836) having gone 51-61 at the charity stripe.Â

The Redhawks have done a nice job limiting their turnovers in OVC play this season. So far, SEMO has a +1.6-turnover margin against opponents only turning it over 16.4 times-per-game to their opponents 18.0. Junior
Kiyley Flowers has 36 steals in OVC play alone, a team high.

With just five games left in the regular season, Southeast Missouri is currently tied with Lindenwood and Tennessee State at 4-9 in league play. SEMO is 1-0 against Tennessee State this season, and 1-1 versus Lindenwood as we approach the end of the regular season. The Cougars come into Saturday's contest with a 2-11 OVC record and are in last place in the table. Â

Following the conclusion of Saturday's contest, the Redhawks will head back out on the road one more time to end the season. After two games at home (2/22 & 2/24), the Redhawks will head to Morehead State (2/29) and Southern Indiana (3/2) to conclude the regular season.Â

Southeast Missouri fell on Thursday night, 71-52, at Eastern Illinois. Freshman guard
Indiya Bowen scored a career-high 20 points on Thursday night, surpassing her previous mark of 19 points earlier this season. Bowen finished an impressive 50-percent from the field (8-16) and 33-percent from three (1-3).Â

As a team, SEMO shot 20-57 from the field (20-57) and just 21-percent from three-point range (3-14). The Redhawks finished 9-13 from the charity stripe, a 69-percent mark.Â

The Panthers were led by forward Macy McGlone and guard Charita Lewis who each scored 11 points as every Panther found the score sheet in the contest. As a team, EIU shot close to 50-percent (49.1%) from the floor on 27-55.

The Cougars are coming off a 69-67 win over Lindenwood on Thursday night. During the win SIUE shot 36.5% from the field, 39.1% from 3-point land, and 63.2% from the stripe. This win halted their three-game losing streak.

SIUE had three players score double figures with sophomore guard Macy Silver scoring a team high 17 points. Silver also added eight rebounds and made three 3-pointers during the game.

Ava Stoller is currently leading the Cougars in assists and rebounds this season. Stoller has 129 rebounds (5.2 RBG) and 77 assists (3.08 APG).

SIUE's leading scorer, KK Rodriguez is averaging 22 PPG but has not played since December 6. The Cougars' next leading scorer is Sofie Lewis is averaging 11.1 points per game.
