CHARLESTON, Ill. – Southeast Missouri volleyball (16-5, 8-2 OVC) fell on Friday night to Eastern Illinois (20-2, 10-1 OVC) by a final score of 3-1 at Lantz Arena in Charleston, Ill.
SEMO won the first set 25-13 before dropping the next three sets 20-25, 21-25, and 14-25 snapping a five-game winning streak.
The Redhawks were led offensively by freshman
Lucy Arndt. Arndt finished the match with 13 kills on 40 total attacks and finished with a .300 hitting-percentage.
She registered a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs.
SEMO jumped out to an early lead, dominating the first half, and out hitting the Panthers by a .393 to .059 hitting percentage in the first set.
EIU finished the match with a .266 hitting-percentage to SEMO's .236. Natalie Meachem led the Panthers with 18 kills on 34 total attacks for a .412 hitting-percentage.
Kayla Closset finished with a double-double for the Redhawks on Friday night. The senior from Naperville, Ill. finished with 10 kills and 15 digs. Closset also finished with 37 receptions.
The Redhawks registered 10 blocks as a team, led by
Marisa Guisti who finished with three block assists. Guisti also recorded 11 kills on 31 attacks and finished with a .258 hitting-percentage.

Avery Torrey,
Izzy Lukens,
Talia Gouard, and
Lucy Arndt registered block assists in Friday's contest.
As a team, SEMO finished the match with a .236 hitting-percentage as a team thanks in large part to
Izzy Lukens who registered 41 assists. The senior from Omaha, Nebraska finished with a .360 set percentage (114 total attempts).
The Redhawks and Panthers will conclude the season series with Eastern Illinois tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. from Lantz Arena.
