Tipping Off 
The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team hosts Evansville in its second home game Sunday. UE is the first of four Missouri Valley Conference opponents the Redhawks will face this season. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.

Series History 
The Redhawks lead the all-time series with Evansville, 7-3. SEMO defeated the Aces 54-50 on December 8, 2018 in Evansville during the last meeting. The Redhawks are 4-0 against UE in Cape Girardeau.

Scouting the Aces
The Aces recently defeated Brescia 77-61, with freshman Abby Feit posting a double-double 26 points and 18 rebounds. UE ended the 2018-19 campaign with a 4-26 record and 2-16 mark in conference play. The Aces went 1-4 against the OVC last season with the lone win coming over Austin Peay (56-52). Last season, the #10 seeded Aces fell 90-80 to #7 seeded Loyola in the Hoops in the Heartland Women's Basketball Championship.
 
Preseason Play
Southeast Missouri defeated Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, 91-45, in exhibition play. Taelour Pruitt scored a team-high 21 points and recorded four steals.  Graduate transfer Denisha Gardener recorded seven points and seven rebounds in her debut. 

Thompson Named Preseason All-OVC Team 
Junior guard Tesia Thompson was named Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference Team for the second consecutive season. Thompson has 917 points and 376 rebounds thus far. The Memphis, Tennessee native is 268-367 (.730) at the free throw line. She averages 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 28.6 minutes per game. 

OVC Preseason Poll 
Southeast Missouri women's basketball was picked to finish sixth in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll, garnering 139 total points. Belmont picked up 14 of the 24 first-place votes en route to a third-straight preseason favorite. Belmont forward Ellie Harmeyer was named the OVC Preseason Player of the Year. The 2019-20 season will be the fifth under head coach Rekha Patterson. Under Patterson's leadership, the Redhawks finished the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 13-17 and 8-10 mark in conference play.
