MARTIN, Tenn. – The Southeast Missouri (4-5, 1-1) offense was strong Sunday afternoon but UT Martin (4-5-2, 2-0) netted a late, 80^th-minute goal to down the Redhawks, 1-0.

Southeast put up 13 shots in the contest, the most since the Aug. 27 game against Green Bay. Paige Blankenheim, Esmie Gonzales, and Maggie Pike each recorded a pair of shots to combine for nearly half of the Redhawk offense. Pike landed both of her shots on goal. In all, Southeast spotted five shots on goal.

The SEMO defense held the Skyhawks to seven shots, including just one in the first half. Maddi Karstens and Bri Caccavale played the full 90-minute match on the SEMO back line.

Maddie Gleeson (2-1) suffered the loss after allowing the Skyhawk goal. She made a pair of stops.

Erica Myers (3-5-1) recorded the solo shutout while adding five saves.

Arguably, Southeast's best chance at scoring came 16 minutes into the game when Lauren Kaempfe tried at an open net but her shot was just high.

The first 45 minutes featured a scoreless draw in Martin with more defense than offense in the stanza on both sides. The Redhawks led in shots 6-1 with SEMO putting one shot on the mark. SEMO took all four corner kicks in the half. Fouls were aplenty as 13 total fouls were called with the Redhawks owning seven.

UTM's Nicole Collins, who led the team with three shots in the match, took a pass from Alexius Thomas and scored into the upper right corner of the goal to break up the scoreless tie in the 80^th minute.

In the 88^th minute, Jennifer Brien fired a point-blank laser inside the box but Myers made an impressive stop to preserve the shutout.

The Redhawks still outshot the Skyhawks in the second half but the margin was much slimmer, 7-6.

Southeast will continue its road stretch with a pair of games next weekend. The Redhawks take on Morehead State Friday at 5 p.m., CT, followed by a noon, CT, matchup at Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
