CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team finished exhibition play Wednesday evening with a 108-59 victory over Lindenwood University - Belleville.
The Redhawks combined for 217 points in both exhibition wins this week. Southeast put up 109 against Oakland City on Sunday.
The Redhawks and Lady Lynx remained neck-and-neck right out of the gate as the first seven shots in the game all fell with the Lady Lynx ahead 10-7. Tied at 12,
Imani Johnson drained a pair of free throws to spark a six-point run for the Redhawks, opening an 18-12 lead.
The Redhawks ended the first quarter on top, but not by much, 30-23.
Olivia Hackmann tallied 13 points in the first quarter alone with a team-leading four rebounds.
Southeast opened the second quarter hot with 14 unanswered points to take a 21-point lead at 44-23. The 14-point run was capped off with back-to-back 3-pointers by
Hannah Noe.
Southeast outscored the Lady Lynx 23-7 in the second frame to carry a 53-30 lead into halftime.
Hackmann finished the first half with 21 points while Johnson also topped the 10-point mark with 11.
Erin Bollmann led the team with seven boards in the first 20 minutes of play.
As a team, Southeast tallied 21 offensive rebounds in the first half. A season ago, Southeast's season high for offensive rebounds in a game was 21 against Alabama A&M in the season opener on Nov. 14, 2014.
Southeast opened a 17-point run early to start the second half, opening a 38-point lead. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Noe, her sixth and seventh of the game, put Southeast up 43 points at 81-38 with 2:10 left in the third quarter.
The Redhawks rounded out the third leading 87-46 and well en route to another 100-point game.
Noe found herself with 21 points after the third quarter of play, two shy of the point leader, Hackmann with 23.
The Lady Lynx failed to gain much ground on Southeast in the fourth quarter as the Redhawks would wrap up the game with 13 more points in the final 10-minute frame.
Hackmann finished with 27 points in the game to lead the Redhawks. Three other Redhawks finished in double figure points: Noe (21), Johnson (14), and Bollmann (12). Noe scored all 21 points from beyond the arc, going 7-for-10.
In addition to Bollmann's 12 points, she tallied a team-leading 12 rebounds to record the Redhawks' only double-double of exhibition play. Hackmann was a rebound short with nine of recording a double-double.
Freshman
Adrianna Murphy was superb finding open teammates, tallying nine assists in the game. Murphy was responsible for one-third of the team's assists. As a team, Southeast had 27 in the game.
As a team, the Redhawks shot 45.7% (42-of-92) from the field, 46.2% (12-of-26) from beyond the 3-point line, and 60% (12-of-20) from the free-throw line.
Southeast finished with 67 rebounds, which was 10 more than last season's season-high. The Redhawks had 32 offensive boards and 35 defensive.
The Redhawks will officially kickoff the 2015-16 season at Saint Louis University on Nov. 14. Tipoff against the Billikens is slated for 3 p.m. from Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.
