2005 OVC Women's Indoor Track & Field Champions to Be Honored

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Monday, February 28, 2005) - The Southeast Missouri State women's indoor track and field team will be honored at half time of the women's basketball team's Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament first round match-up with Samford on Tuesday night at the Show Me Center.
The Redhawks won their second-straight OVC title in indoor track and field and invite all fans, faculty and students to a reception before the women's basketball game. The reception will be held at Show Me Center Conference Room at 6:15.
Among those being honored are five OVC Champions.
Freshman Kathy Coleman, the OVC's Freshman and Field Athlete of the Year, won two titles in the 60 meter dash and the triple jump on her way to OVC Female Athlete of the Indoor Championships.
Junior Brooke Woodruff, the OVC's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, won the 800 meter title.
Lindsay Zeiler won the mile championship.
Woodruff and Zeiler teamed-up with Jennifer Burke and Taryn Phillips to win the OVC title in the distance medley.
Head Coach Joey Haines will also be honored as he was named the OVC's Women's Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.
The Redhawks basketball game will start at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are still available, with a number of free tickets bought by the Southeast Missouri State Student Athletics Council (SAC) also available.
