Southeast Missouri's volleyball and gymnastics teams compete at Houck Field House. The original Houck Field House at Southeast Missouri State University opened in March 1927. After a fire destroyed the original building in February 1948, a rebuilt and expanded version opened in 1951. The 40,000-square foot building features a hardwood court as its playing surface. It has the ability to fit two regulation-size volleyball courts. Houck Field House was initially renovated in 1987 and 1995 to better accomodate volleyball and gymnastics. Several other improvements to the facility have been made since then. Locker rooms for baseball, soccer and softball, an indoor walking track and offices for baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis are also located in Houck Field House. SEMO's volleyball program hosted the Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2021 and 2024. The Redhawks gymnastics team last hosted the Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Championships at Houck Field House in 2023.
