BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri landed three programs on the Ohio Valley Conference's 2024-25 Institutional Academic Achievement Award, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Men's Track and Field, Women's Cross Country, and Women's Tennis all represented the Redhawks on the coveted list. The three programs tied Morehead State for the second most representatives to receive the team award(s).
The overall Institutional Achievement award, presented annually to the member institution with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes that earn a 3.25 grade point average or higher for that academic year, was won by Lindenwood University, which had over 70 percent of its student-athletes earn the honor. It marks the first award for the institution that just completed its third year in the Conference.
The OVC Team Academic Achievement Awards, which are presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher, were awarded in 18 sports.
The awards cap the announcements regarding 2024-25 academic year awards. It was previously announced that a record 1,792 OVC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll (for having a 3.25 GPA or better) while 349 student-athletes achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's to earn the OVC Academic Medal of Honor (the second-highest total in league history).
