
Men's & Women's Cross Country, Men's Track & Field Take Home OVC Team Academic Awards

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri Men's & Women's Cross Country and Men's Track & Field were awarded the 2023-24 Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Award, the league announced Tuesday morning.
The award signifies that all three squads achieved a grade point average of 3.25 or higher among all its eligible athletes.
Southeast Missouri and Western Illinois recorded the second most teams on the list with three, trailing only UT Martin (4).
11 different institutions garnered at least one award for the 2023-24 season. Along with the Team award, the 2023-24 OVC Institutional Academic Achievement Award was announced on Tuesday as well.
The overall Institutional Achievement award, presented annually to the member institution with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes that earn a 3.25 grade point average or higher for that academic year, was won by Southern Indiana who earned the award for the second-straight season.
The awards cap the announcements regarding 2023-24 academic year awards. It was previously announced that 1,630 OVC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll (for having a 3.25 GPA or better) while 310 student- athletes achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's to earn the OVC Academic Medal of Honor.
